Players who are Hot or Cold

This has been a perennial problem in my 10 years with this game, and it seems to be continuing this year.

I am NOT talking about hot/cold zones in the strike zone. I am talking about a player who is designated as hot (fire by name) or cold (snowflake by name).

This feature always seems to be over-done to the point of absurdity. In my current RTS, I was 'hot' for a time and hitting over .350 ... and now I am 'cold' and struggling to hit .200 over a ten-game span.

Yes, there are ups and downs in baseball. I'm well-aware. But it is not FUN to have players that you know are going to suck for a week or two because that "cold" icon is by their name. Not fun at all.

The feature is too influential and for too long a a time. If I could turn it off, I would do so in an instant.

MLB the show is a sim baseball game. Not an arcade. It imitates real baseball with the ups and downs like you said. It happens every year to guys in real life.

I could be wrong. But doesnt the hot and cold icon only show up when a player is hot and cold? There is no randomness to it i thought? You hit .400 for a week it will show a player as hot. If he turns around and hits .150 the next week he will show as cold. You dont get the icon and then go hot or cold. You get hot or cold and then get the icon. Thats what ive always thought at least.

I agree I think the icon shows your performance for the week prior if im correct.

On a different note Im digging your Chiefs logo. Im from the Peoria area wbu?

As far as I know, you get the hot/cold symbol based on your past 10 game performance. Once you have the symbol it affects your pci size and possibly other stats.

I'm pretty certain it does have an impact.
