Stealing bases in RTTS

Is it supposed to become a bigger pain as time goes on or what? When I was in the minors and my first season in the majors I would steal bases as I please. My cpu teammates who hit after me would usually take some strikes/balls and allow me to attempt a steal. Now, in my second season and my speed and stealing stats even higher, 95% of the time the batter after me swings at everything, usually popping up or striking out and killing my chances to steal. I've gone from 60 stolen bases in my first season to less then 30 in my second. Is there something behind this?

Did you change the setting where you get to see every pitch while on base? By default it uses quick counts when you're baserunning. Changing this gives you a lot more steal opportunities.

I've found that the CPU hitter will not swing if you run on any of the first two pitches of the at-bat. The percentage starts to go up the more pitches in the at-bat. Having said that, I've never once thought that the CPU always kept me from stealing bases. Perhaps you're waiting too long into an AB where the hitter has no choice but to swing at pitches as they do not want to strike out. Run earlier in the count.

Go to Mode-Specific Options, then it's RTTS CPU Teammate hitting. Set it to "All" if you want to see every pitch instead of just half the pitches.

thanks a bunch jeffy, I'll change it when I get out of work & am free to play!

No problem man!

I set everything else to "All" as well because I like playing every opportunity so my stats are really MY stats lol. I also changed the RTTS fielding controls to "Fielder" because otherwise I accidentally throw to the wrong base now and then.
