I do check them and have noticed them working in-game. Pinch hitter quirk coming in to hit in the 9th who's also a dead red quirk guy? I've definitely put a couple of those into the seats!

I like them and find them valuable. I would like to see a definition and the impact it has

Re: Quirks. Does anyone really check them out in a game.

Thanks guys, some awesome responses, I may rethink about using them. I haven't really had a chance to utilize them because most of my games are in test mode, testing different things like SP and so on.

Every-time I think I found them all; another appears that I haven't seen such as the Sniper. I do know that they come and they go. One of my pitchers had one, I can't remember which it was, but after a few sims, I noticed he didn't have any.

If anyone has a list of all of them and would like to post them and maybe explain what you think they are or what they represent. That would be great. Maybe someone could start a post and list them, others add to them, and give their theories as to what and how they work. But it is quite obvious that some really think and have experienced an impact with them.

I guess the main thing is they affect batting vs. pitching and the main affect seems to be the size of the PCI. So somehow how it must also affect the players rating in the eternal game or plus or minus to the contact and power ratings which we would not see. I also wonder if it might affect the Hot and cold spots to a batter. I have noticed that those also change facing different pitchers.

And when a clutch hitter comes to the plate with men on base, I wonder if it changes the pitchers confidence. And there must be a few that affect fielding as someone said with the sniper quirk.

When and If they fix the SP logic, If these things really have an effect, It could really change the strategy of the game. It would also most likely change a player’s value in the trade logic. This must be what gives the Humanity effect to the game..

The only other thing I don't completely figure how a play can have all smile faces and just one sad face. He can be unsatisfied or unhappy or even angry..

When I do something wrong, No one ever forgets.!

I completely forgot they even existed, TBH. I'll start looking at what players have what and see if they have any affect on the actual game.

I would if I knew what most of them did. Some are self explanatory, others I have no idea

I predicted that this would happen, when they announced how they would show in game. And, when I got the game early I stated that you could easily forget about Quirks. I requested that they make quirks as part of random OSD during at bats, just like they do with other stats. And, my other argument is the displaying of all the quirks is overwhelming and they should only display relevant quirks in the right situation, fighter in the right situation would make you learn and understand when that quirk is active, instead of you guessing.

Joc Pederson has a 1st pitch quirk. When he is up at the plate the only relevant quirk is 1st pitch and that is all you need to see, if he swings and misses that quirk is no longer relevant.

Like Situational Hitter is good at hitting with a runner on 3rd and the batter has 2 strikes on him. That is the only time that quirk should be displayed. Mind you this is all about in game, not on the player card.

Pretty sure the quirk screen in the player card defines what each one is.....

It would make more sense for the announcers to reference it than seeing it on screen. They could say "Nelson Cruz always looks to drive the first pitch"

Very cool. I love the idea of quirks as long as they balance well, have a significant impact, and occasionally pop up in scouted players / rookies in Franchise mode. In fact, I'd rather see player quirks than hard ratings. Instead of telling me Castro has a 99 arm / accuracy or whatever, just tell me he's a sniper.

These are The Shows attempt at what has made NBA 2K a much better game over the last few years, badges. There are guys that have qualities that just can't be accurately gotten by ratings. It puts a bigger gap between the superstars and the really good players, which is good, and it also gives those low ratings bench guys meaning. That 68 rated guy was terrible until all of a sudden he gets the pinch hitter quirk. Now he's contributing in more ways than he did before.

I feel like this feature kinda wasn't pushed and flew under the radar during the leadup to the release, and I think that was a mistake. It starts to help add that intangible aspect to the game.

I check them on occasion. I actually think they play a role and arent there just for looks. I use to not be able to hit with Votto, and now I do, Ive not gotten better, I guarantee that, Im probably worse than I use to be,lol.

Id definitely say they do have a impact and are something you may want to pay attention too. I wasnt too sure when thy added quirks, if it would be a good thing or not, with NBA2k and badges, at times I think they are over powered to a degree, but the devs of MLBTS did a very nice job IMO with them.

Quirks would be great if you could earn them through performance on the field. As of now, any drafted players from carryover saves only get random ones and 99% of the ones I've seen are night player and road road warrior.
