Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
Anyone ever created your own player that was near perfect to play as in franchise mode?Tags: None -
Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
I created my son in my franchise. He started out as an 18yo 63ovr 2nd baseman. I gave him an A dev. 5 seasons later he's 94 and a perennial all-star.

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
I've made my brother and myself. I used to pitch, he was a catcher. We only played on the same team once in real life.
I simmed through a few franchises and added accurate service time to each of us (I'm 33 and he's 30). Whenever I decide to start a franchise I might import both CAPs into the same team. Not sure yet.
Neither of us are all stars (both rated high 70s) so it's a bit more realistic. But it would be cool to try and win a World Series together.
Amazing how much the CAPs look like us... Game is really good this year.

I don't create a player but I will take a minor leager and up his attributes to make him a power hitter or a speedy lead off hitter. Whichever the team needs more.

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
This is typically the way I play. I'll create a player and make him somewhat mediocre and put him in AAA and start there. Then play all the games on "Player Lock". I like having full team control.
I'm anxious to start on my franchise again but waiting for the patch. The whole SP's getting pulled at 5 innings when being simmed is killing it for me at the moment. But I really enjoy playing it like this.

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
That was my original plan when I created my son. I planned to play the 2015 season as a franchise and not interfere with him, then player lock him for the rest of his career. I prefer the hands off progression of franchise over the XP based RTTS. I ended up just playing the games as normal and this is how his career is playing out so far.
After having a good 2015 AA season I called him up to AAA for a playoff run. I decided to player lock him for the AAA playoffs and he proceeded to hit leadoff homeruns in the first 3 playoff games. And the legend was born. Lol.
I ended up leaving him alone in AAA for the 2016 season before calling him up in September. He's been my leadoff man ever since.
2017 was an ok rookie season, .264/11/56 and 34 steals. He really broke out in 2018, going .292/33/72 and 59 steals. The 2018 season was when I moved over to MLBTS 2016 and their new progression system. He jumped from 78 to an 89. In the 2019 season he put together another great season hitting .296/39/87 (87 RBI as a leadoff. Insane) with 55SB.
I'm really trying to get him to that 40-40 club. lol. He reminds me of a young Alfonso Soriano.

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
I do that. I made two pitchers, a righty and a lefty, who are 99 everything, and a righty who is 0 velocity, 99 everything else. And a closer 25 stamina 99 everything else.Comment

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
Yea I do as I prefer it this way over RTTS for several reasons. Made myself as a 99 potential starting pitcher in the Orioles Organization just the other day... Started out at 58 OVR. Currently in AA just past the Eastern League All-Star Break up to 62 OVR.Comment

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
I started a franchise with the Marlins in MLB The Show 2015 and went into it with myself and about five others that I used to play baseball with created... I played every game of the first season, and the more I played it the more I wanted more of my friends on the team...
Long story short, it's now 2018 and I've carried over the franchise each time a new The Show is release and well, the entire league has about 40 of my friends distributed throughout. I wish I knew I'd get so addicted to this because I want to export these players and start new with players like Judge/Sanchez/Severino/Syndergaard/Hoskins/etc actually in the franchise mode without them being created players, but I didn't have 30-team control selected when I started it. Here's to hoping they add this feature at some point!!Comment

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
I once used a fictional roster and made my entire team myself. I tried to be tough on myself, but I still ended up with 5 99s (2 starters, a 3B, a SS and a LF)
I might take another crack at making that team again. It had some pretty interesting characters on it. Hopefully this time I can make it balanced.

Re: Creating your own player to use in franchise mode
Glad to see people play like how I do. I actually created myself twice back in 17. A pitcher and a 2B/SS. (Couldnt decide on a hitter or a pitcher so I did both) Started in double A at 67 ovr now 5 yrs in my pitcher is a 98 and my Position player a 92. I play with the yanks. Not on player lock but on quick manage until its my turn to hit. The first 3 seasons I was a long reliever and the last two season I’ve been a starter. I’ve imported my franchise to 18 and I’ve continued on from there. I used OSFM roster so my prospect are developing beautifully. Clint Frazier and Greg Bird are contributing to my team. I control every single aspect of the organization and I dont need to worry about dumb moves made by my manager or trades that dont really fit.Comment
