Changeups may need to be tweaked

Right now, it seems impossible to consistently throw a 90mph changeup.

If you make the CH velocity rating a 0, it shows as 88mph on the edit screen and the pitch in-game is in the 86-89mph range.

It's not the biggest deal, but a few pitchers have changeups that average around 88-90mph & rely more on movement than speed differential.

Maybe have the changeup max speed a few ticks higher than where it is, so we can see changeups like King Felix '09-'15, McCullers, Cole, Syndergaard, deGrom, etc.

1 mph on a change up is not going to lessen its effectiveness.

In game this was also a problem with Jake Arrrieta in his Cy Young award winning year we couldn't duplicated a low changeup at 90 mph. In 2010 Strasburg would throw his changeup 90-91 mph which couldn’t be duplicated in game. And then now we have Syndergaard. I hope they tweak it as well.

        Not exactly talking about effectiveness.

If you take Syndergaard, lower his changeup velocity all the way down to 0, then throw some changeups down in the zone, or even in the dirt -- the mph range is 86-88mph. I'm just saying a range of 88-90mph should be achievable with the changeup rating at 0. I'm fairly certain it was in MLB 16 (haven't played it for a while, so I could be wrong)

More so about accuracy of pitch-types than straight in-game effectiveness. It might be a fringe issue, and if it would throw anything else out of wack, then it's fine where it is - but I wouldn't mind seeing the low 90s changeup again.

Changeup speeds haven't changed in as long as I can remember. Certainly not recently.

I agree changeups in the 89-91 range would be good.

Yep it's been a problem in recent iterations. The problem is that most changeups in game are thrown 12-15mph slower than fastballs, but in all actuality they should be 8-10mph slower. That's why the changeup is such an effective pitch for the cpu in the show.

Wouldn't the split finger or sinker at a slow speed replicate a fast change up or fast circle change?

One thing I found odd a few years ago though is that they pretty much seemed to get rid of most pitchers circle change ups and just went with regular change ups.

My biggest gripe in this game is that when you create a pitcher the velocity of all pitches alter eachother. It doesn't do that with the MLB guys, I don't understand why they do it this way. It's an obvious glitch that should be patched...but it's been going on for years. It makes editing prospect pitchers maddening.

                  THIS is the real problem.
