Does the ball look odd?
Does anyone else think the ball looks a bit...odd when put in play? It's like it loses its "whiteness" and becomes sort of "floaty" and transparent...especially when thrown. It looks larger than it should as well. Maybe that is intentional to help players.

Re: Does the ball look odd?
I think your assumption is correct... in certain situation, the ball appears to be given brighter color for clarity (like each pitch thrown by the pitcher).
Not sure this is most realistic, but I imagine doing so avoid ball to be totally fade into brightness/darkness under certain conditions, even when that happens in real life.
For example, part of what makes it difficult to hit when the shadow goes in between the pitcher and batter... that doesn't happen in the game since the ball color is bright white in that situation I believe. -
Re: Does the ball look odd?
I have noticed that it's especially obvious when the pitcher and batter are in the shadows, but there is plenty of sunshine behind. The ball comes out of the pitcher's hand like it has a spotlight on it.
It doesn't bother me that much, but what does bug me is that this year the contrast seems a bit off when you are in the shade and looking toward the sunlit areas. Just seems a bit dark in those shadows. Odd that it looks fine from any other view besides batting. Anyhow.. Yes, the ball definitely looks like it's been using Crest WhiteStrips® in certain situations.Comment
