CPU pulling closer while still winning in the 9th
2 games in a row i was losing 1-0 to the Royals. In both games they brought in their closer. After getting my first 2 hitters out in the 9th, i singled and immediately their closer was pulled and a new relief pitcher was put in. This exact scenario happened 2 games in a row. Anyone else notice anything similar? Thanks.Tags: None -
Re: CPU pulling closer while still winning in the 9th
Yes I have seen this happen.
I wouldn't mind seeing certain type of managers don't stick to the "closer" role for their tendency to value putting the best reliever in the "high leverage" situation... but we don't have the CPU manager tendency in the game yet.
I wish CPU managers just stick to their closer until at least tying run is allowed. -

Never seen this as well but I do see the CPU constatnstly leaving relievers in even when they are getting lit up.Comment

Re: CPU pulling closer while still winning in the 9th
Do we want to see this in every game? No of course not. But it has happened in the real world. In fact it happened last night in the Mets/Nationals game.
"With Bryce Harper coming to the plate with the bases loaded and the Mets clinging to a two-run, ninth-inning lead, New York manager Terry Collins went to the mound and replaced closer Jeurys Familia with left-hander Josh Edgin."

Re: CPU pulling closer while still winning in the 9th
i could see a bases loaded situation or something like that. i just find it odd that i was seriously slumping and had no offense in either of those 2 games. cpu was really shutting me down. A 2 out single, from the bottom of my lineup and their closer who has 8 saves already (early in the season) gets yanked for no apparent reason in back to back games with pretty much identical scenarios.Comment

Enright is 100% correct. A 2 out single with no one on base and an elite closer... No way he's pulled, short of an injury

Re: CPU pulling closer while still winning in the 9th
I've seen closer put in with 2 outs in 8th, which is great, but then subbed out to start 9th.

Re: CPU pulling closer while still winning in the 9th
It's the same issue with the starter being pulled too early. After a certain inning, no matter the situation if a Pitcher gives up a hit, he's immediately pulled. It is the single handed worst thing about the gameplay this year, in my opinion.Comment

Re: CPU pulling closer while still winning in the 9th
just played a game against Baltimore in my franchise. They brought in their closer with 2 outs in the 8th so i figured ok cool....gonna try for the 4 out save. Then in the 9th they bring in another pitcher instead of leaving the closer in. This crap is kind of getting annoying. I dont remember the show ever having pitcher logic like this.Comment
