    Guess Pitch blink

My problem is that if I decide to sit on a heater, the ball blinks red and it completely throws me off on where the pitch is heading. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? I was able to do it back in '15 I think by turning off some other visual setting like strike zone, I think...I can't figure it out now and it is ruining my experience.

Before someone tells me to just turn it off and become a better hitter...I'm sure I don't use it more than 10% of the time and that is being generous. I like using guess pitch rarely as it adds another dimension and yes, realism, to the hitter/pitcher duel. Say they cannot get offspeed over the plate and I can eliminate those pitches, I can sit on a heater and run him out of the game. This does happen in real life. I use the smallest bonuses and penalties as well. The mental aspect of it adds to my fun.

    Appreciate any help!

Have you considered using "No Feedback" GP? I don't think there's any way to disable the ball flash with feedback on other than simply not guessing pitch type. You could still guess only location and the ball won't flash, so that could still help you gauge what the ball's going to do.

Agree that the "Don't use GP" rhetoric should be left entirely out of this discussion.

I've never used no feedback because I don't want the bonuses to be too high. I don't think we've ever gotten word on what the bonuses actually are but the mere mention that it is the highest always worried me. I might try it though, but I don't want a HR everytime I guess right!

Have the devs ever given us an idea of how extreme these bonuses are? I don't recall ever getting that but I have been away for a year plus...

No feedback is working pretty well for me. Not as overpowered as I thought (1 game and some bp so limited sample but I expected confirmation bias that it would be huge bonuses). The one game I tried it, I never guessed right and only guessed a couple of times. Situation just never presented itself in this pitchers duel.

            Re: Guess Pitch blink

I stopped using guess pitch when it changed to its current form. I was devastated as I used it as a crutch. I basically didn't swing until two strikes unless I guess right, but the way they have it now made it too hard in my opinion, so I stopped using it.

Once I learned how to hit without it, I tried using that 10%, like if I was in a 3-0 count and wanted to sit dead red on a fastball, but I found that the way it is now is too late and more distracting.

The only solution is to go no feedback, but to me then, what's the point, other than a fake boost? You still need to read the pitch and react properly as if it was off.

I turned it off completely and never looked back.

So as far as I know there is no option to make it better while still having it on.

I've never used it as a crutch. I should specify that I use timing/directional hitting. So, for me, it adds another layer of thinking about situations and matchups while giving your player a slightly better chance of success while using their ratings and not my ability to place a cursor in a spot. Plus, I tend to jerk the stick to the edges of the zone as I grew up in the Atari generation. I am not gentle like analog needs.

Thusly, I can either feel like Kirk Gibson knowing that the Eck is going to throw that slider...or feel like Miggy being wrong when Romo didn't throw that slider that he throws 99% of the time. Mostly, it is about looking for something that catches a lot of the plate and timing it well.

There was something that I did back when they changed it that was unrelated - like turning off hot/cold zones or something similar that had the result of turning off that blinking. Either they fixed it or I cannot find it.
