You will need budget turned "OFF" for this to work if ur in Franchise. Release all players in the final year of their contract aged 32 and above. Have Waivers set to "MANUAL". sim three days. now, resign all those players to longer contracts and each year of the contract should give that player the chance to not retire.

Again guys if you took your single A "Fake Players" on all the teams or maybe just 15 teams and turned there age to 45 in your franchise no real players will retire going to your off season. Give it a whirl...

How about they just patch it to work correctly?

I do not know about that work-around. can you please describe it to me and does it really stop guys from retiring to early ?
I feel it is safest to give them a contract that expires when they are about 40-years of age just to be safe.
        Thank You

Is this really an issue? I just got the game about a week ago so I haven't even played a full season in franchise mode yet.

Sounds as if you've tried this. So it was successful, then?

A few big name players here and there are retiring a few years earlier than they would in real life.

It's not THAT big of an issue, but it is annoying to some and ruins their experience.

This has always been a problem with this game. Especially for people who play multiple years in Franchise. Its just like the stupid "Sign a guy after the draft to a multi-year deal, he retires due to poor free agent pool".

But of course, why fix that when you can just focus on DD.

Yeah, I can see how that would be annoying.

I usually never make it multiple years in a single franchise. Seems like I always get bored and start over with a new one.
