Does anyone have a fix for this. I play offline legend difficulty hitting. This was an issue last year too. MLB pitchers use the heat to pitch off of. They don't always pitch hitters backwards. This game is really bad in this area. I think they should allow us a percentage icon when editing player. For example for a 4 seam - you can choose the speed, movement and percent they throw it. Fangraphs has the stat and it's easy to input. It would really help the play a lot more realistically.

Nope you're more likely on 2-0 to see offspeed than a hittable fastball. If you're 2-0 90% of the time you will draw a walk if you just walk away from the game until the AB is over.

I wish it was this way too, but IIRC I think you see a lot more of the pitches the CPU feels you cant hit.

It's possible that pitching AI is adapting to your weakness?

For example, if you hit well against heaters but are not hitting well against breaking/off-speed pitches, then the pitch command/confidence for the latter pitches get larger relative to that of heater... then AI would throw more of them to you, with better command.

On RTTS my guy destroys fastballs... against some pitchers I never see them; against others they leave them hanging over the middle all game long. Smart pitchers keep off-speed stuff thrown at my guy, which usually ends up 2-3 or 3-5 with singles or doubles... instead of 2-3, 3-5 with 1-3 HR's when they keep hanging those fastball. lol.

Agreed. Last year when I played offline, the pitchers would almost exclusively pitch to my weaknesses.

Also, offspeed command is so damn good in this game, I bet the AI has decided to throw more of them on their own, assuming their not tied to any pitch type percentages.

Guys it's all about the pitch confidence really. If a pitcher has high confidence in said pitch he will throw it more often. If you struggle against the change, curve, slider, etc you'll see more of them than the fastball.

This is meant to reflect real life but it kinda falls short. What it really should do is give pitchers higher confidence in their best pitches, not what you're struggling against. Clayton Kershaw throws a change-up... rarely. Even if you're the worst hitting team against the change Kershaw is still maybe throwing it just a few times a game irl. However if you're bad against the change in game he'll turn into Marco Estrada.

I like that the game adapts to your weaknesses, but not when it does it to the point of sacrificing realism. This and the fact that we can't get a callgame rating for catchers are my two biggest gripes about pitching in this game.
