How do you decide which players to draft since they aren't scouted? I'll probably start doing this bc I want to keep it realistic and not have my farm become crazy good, but just wondering what your process for picks is

Auto scout then you just make the best decision with the data that auto scouting gives you. You get some hits with great prospects but also a lot of guys who will never get out of AA.

Top of my Padres draft. This cat won't improve much, he's an injury waiting to happen, and he's not great in the field, but he can swing the stick right out of the gate.

For the next 2-3 seasons I'd do nothing but fielding training.

With those hitting attributes he could have a solid chance of getting hot and maybe getting his potential bumped up a little bit.

Chiming in here, I do the same thing as ND, Seasprite, and bkrich. I dont discover or scout any of the guys so the only people who are scouted are the "blue chip" players.

You can get a rough idea of a players skills by looking at the "unscouted" info that is given to you. While not wholly accurate, you can get an idea of the style of player.

This way of drafting for me leads to a sense of randomness while also evening out the talent between my team the remainder of the MLB. I usually end up with at least 1-3 B pot and the rest C pot and probably one or two D. If you are lucky to get a top 5-10 pick, you can take a blue chip player and get one of the A pot players.

Edit: There are 5 stud blue chip pitchers in the 2018 draft and I have the 8th pick, I am hoping one drops to me.

With all that being said here was my first draft:

Full disclosure.........I do it this way now because of your suggestions. Much better than scouting and discovering myself.

After reading the thread, thanks guy about the auto scouting *I feel stupid to not have think about it before . I'm close to 120G in 1st year but next season, I'm going to proceed this way.

Way more realistic.. I scouted and always end up with a farm too much stacked (Already have the Braves.. don't want to add all B's and A's or high C's ready to play the year after. I want busts too.. as weird as it sounds haha

I just drafted this guy. While he isn't a world beater or anything he's MLB ready and should be a staple at the hot corner for me for a while.

                            Speaking of the Draft

Why is their 10 Rounds but you only draft 7 players?

Introducing Demarcus Looney, #1 pick of the 2017 MLB Draft to the Minnesota Twins:

                              94 Potential

I think Mauer has another year left in the tank and if not it'll be easy to scoop up a 1-year 1B replacement while Looney refines his fielding in the minors. I can't freaking wait to start using this guy and RAKING.

Good lord those hitting ratings...I think he has Looney beat!

Looney just has the upside and 90 DUR is huge.
