Use Solid Hitting Pitcher As DH?

Hey everyone, I wanted to know if there was any way I could have a pitcher play both ways in franchise. Brendan McKay (from Louisville, top pick this season) is a two way player and I created him and put him into my franchise mode. He made the majors and I traded for him at the deadline, and I want him to DH for me when he isn't pitching and still start in my rotation. Can I do this without entering the game and burning a guy to sub him as the DH? I cant even do it in quick manage, which is what I usually use to play. I actually have to load the game and sub him in defensively for the DH and then go back to quick manage. I would like to be able to sub him into the lineup prior to a game with quick manage. Thanks.

Not that I have ever tried it, but you should be able to sub a pitcher into the game at any position for sure before the game begins, but also at any time during the game. I know whenever I access the pinch hit of pinch run screens, the pitchers are included in the list of players to choose from.

just keep in mind that will take a hit to the pitchers energy for the next few games.

I used Bumgarner to pitch hit once in a game, and he was not 100% by his game to pitch a couple days later.

Nope. You have to start a position player and PH with McKay, thus burning a player. With Otani, McKay, and Greene coming soon, it would be nice if they would fix this.

I was wondering, with a guy like Otani, what would happen if you changed his position back and forth during the season. Like, after his turn in the rotation, edit him to be a LF so he can hit for a few games, then back to P.

I wish there was a way for this to work in the game though because I likely won't have him on my team. With the current options he is just going to be a normal pitcher with outstanding hitting ratings.
