What slider do you put injuries on for realistic results?

This got no reaction in the Sliders group (since a lot fewer people view that) so I'm putting it here and deleting the other thread (hope that's ok):

I want to get realistic injuries in my Franchise. Anyone figure out the best place for the Injury slider to achieve this? Thanks.

I have mine at 7 for played games and 6 for sims. That seems to give me a pretty realistic amount of injuries
My favorite teams are better than your favorite teams

8 in game and 5 for sim. These are tied to Armor & Sword Sliders.

Thanks. Just curious - why are they different for played games and simmed?

injuries occur more often in simmed games than played games. if you want true realism, you should probably sim at 9/10 and play at 10.
what i do, is if a guy gets injured for 1-2 months or longer and he is a good player, I manually reset the injury so he is on the DL 20-days, instead of longer. you should also, before you finish a season and sim to the off-season - make sure NO player has an injury that is 6+ months or the game will likely retire the guy.

Thanks. I don't really sim anyways.

I think mine is set 4, I used to use 6(or 7) but there were a lot of injuries for example, single to right field with runners on second, I tried to tag the runner with Aaron Hicks, made a perfect throw, Aaron Hicks got injured. The runner scored, the next pitch my pitcher got injured. Next game, successfully steal a base with Brett Gardner, got injured.

Re: What slider do you put injuries on for realistic results?

I have mine at default (all are default). It seems good through out the league through 40 games thus far (controlling one team in franchise no simming games).

Reyes, probably out for the season 6+ months
Walker, was out for about 2 weeks.
Cabrera, was out for about a week.
Wheeler had to leave a game, but was good to go for his next start.
Reed, had to leave a game and sat for a few days.
Wright, who I manually injured pre season, came back and went back out after 2 games. He will be back soon.
Duda got injured, but I lost power and I had to restart the game, so there's no injury for him.

I've also had quite a few minor league injuries, the biggest one thus for was a 1-2 month-er.

There were a good deal of injuries around the league. A few, some-what, big names. The Cubs minor league has been destroyed.

So far, I haven't been in too much trouble. Losing Reyes really hurt because I have no speed now. I'll have to wait and see cause these things come in bunches in this game.

How do you manually reset the injury?

user settings find injuries and change to manual.

remove injury and then re-injure if necessary.

change injury back to on for further injuries.

                      repeat ....

I have mine at 7 and had a heap of injuries. I actually like dealing with injuries as it keeps things interesting trying out your depth players.

But since the last patch I had a massive reduction. Small sample size though - have only played a bit since.

I quick manage all my games btw.

I've kept mine at 7 for the last number of years. I find I always get a realistic mix of injuries; some years my team gets tons, others I skate by relatively fine.

I've been hammered over the last two months, though. Within that span, I had Carlos Gonzalez dislocate his ankle (season-ender), Nick Williams blow his Achilles just swinging at a pitch (season-ender), J.P. Crawford break his leg (2 months on DL), and Odubel Herrera break his arm (likely done for year). So yeah, it can occasionally be a pain.

8 in actual games you play gives me exactly what I like.

5 (default) in simmed games works really well and keeps it balanced.

When you go higher on default on simmed games, you are really glutting for true punishment. It get’s out of control.

I would suggest no higher than 6 on simmed games otherwise you will be in injury hell and that is not very realities either.

5 or 6 for simmed games

                            8 for played games.
