    Player progression

Does anyone know how often players ratings change? I brought up Ian Happ a few weeks ago and he's absolutely killing it. In 13 games he's 17-for-44 (.368 AVG), has two home runs, three doubles and a pair of triples with 8 runs batted in.

However, he's yet to move from his 67 overall rating since his call up.

I've found it varies wildly from player to player, but once a month seems to be the average.

      Re: Player progression

There is already two very extensive threads on this subject in the forum you can search for, but I will answer this question for you quickly. I have done hundreds of test franchises with this game since it came out and have a pretty good grasp on the progression system. Your players progress based on a mixture of production/training on the 1st of every month. After every month in the season after you get the hot/struggling emails check your roster and you will see the attribute adjustments on each player for that month. The reason you may not be seeing and increase from Happ yet is a you may have called him up a little to late in the prior month, and maybe he wasn't doing so well in triple A.

Also, if you edit anything about the player I.e positions, equipment it can sometimes cancel out the next months progression for whatever reason like your player is starting fresh.

Some gains and losses are incremental, and some are substantial. For example in a padres franchise I had hunter renfro hit 15 HR against lefties against 5 against righties and his left handed power went up +10 while there was no change in his right hand power.

      Hope this helps

I also want to add that this years game punishes your players crazy for slumps his year. In years past if I guy was slumping I would let him ride it out because he usually wouldn't decrease if I was training him properly. This year I have had guys take crazy hits for a slump lasting only a week. So if you have a guy slumping even as early as spring training bump him down in the order as you will most likely take a huge attribute bit and a possible potential drop.

I think it usually happens within the first 5 days of the month, so if you brought him up mid-month you'll probably see attribute increases the first week of the next month.
