Why are players' overall ratings different in franchise?
For example, Carlos Martinez is put at 82 overall when starting a game (although now it's 81 after three games in the season; why is that?), but when looking at the roster, he's at 86. What's the reason for the difference?Tags: None -
Re: Why are players' overall ratings different in franchise?
I'm guessing that refers to my first question of why Martinez became an 81 from 82, but which rating is "correct" when looking at the in-game player rating vs. the out-of-game player rating?
(In case you haven't figured it out, I don't play franchise much.)Comment

I would consider the rating outside of season and franchise to be ''correct'' rating. in franchise or season it can go up or down, depending on health, how good the coaches are, how close to home he is, how well he's playing, what his salary is, what his role on the team is, etc.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Coaching staff. Check the staff page; your manager likely gives a +2 to something, a -1 to something else, etc.; same with the other coaches.Comment
