    Face Shields

Really curious if we'll get helmet face shields in MLB 18.

Seems like they really exploded this year, I dont recall a lot of hitters wearing them before.

    I could be wrong.

Seems like there may be some more then previous years, would be a nice touch to add to the depth of realism to the game

I think he said that well before the '17 season began though - before we knew how many more players were wearing them. Now that we can all see they're more popular, maybe....?

This is correct. He said they wouldn't add them because only a few guys were wearing them (at the time it was Heyward, Stanton, and Baez) hopefully that will change in 18 as many more players are wearing this style.

heck, even Donaldson is wearing one and hes never been hit in the face. but he said, "with the pitchers throwing as hard as they do now. and this is available, why not use it"

im sure more will start using them as years go by.

They might try and squeeze it in for next years version depending on workload with other things. But I think it will have be included for sure in 2019

                Re: Face Shields

I really hope so. Every single team has at least one guy with a face shield these days. A lot of teams have 2 or 3 even. The Cubs alone have like 5 if you include their bench.

Ramone said in the stream that the file size was insanely big and they wouldn't be adding them.

Not sure how this is the case, but whatever.

That was before the season though. I'm sure they've seen as we have that so many more players are using them. You can't watch a game and not see at least 3-4 of them between two teams.
