In franchise, how does the game determine the ratings decrease? Some of my hottest players are receiving a -1 on hitting and power when they're tearing the cover off the ball. Do players ever receive a ratings boost??

Cold streaks, morale, and having a potential lower that OVR can all cause that.Comment

Age, performance and player morale have the most impact. But it does seem a bit random. I've had B potential guys in their 20s regress even when they are having a good year.

They really need to tune how Progression/Regression works. And Fix retirement logic for that matter. Plenty of players are successful into their mid/late 30's. In Franchise mode the moment a guy hits 36 he falls off a cliff. It's been a problem the past few iterations of the game.
Furthermore, everyone retires so early. IIRC in the few franchises I've run, players rarely make it past age 37.
