New to the Show '17: Long term franchise question(issues?)

    First year playing The Show.

I'm 4 years into a franchise and I'm having two main issues

    1. I can't seem to get minor leaguers to progress. All my top prospects are stuck in AA and AA at 60OVR even after 4 seasons. Is there a training issue I'm missing or a setting I should be using?

    2. The 40 man/25 man Spring training trim down. When I trim my rosters and send guys down why is that tied to player options? I'm sure I'm doing something incorrect but any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure about issue 1. I've seen players in the minors progress reasonably well but I started with '14 and I can't speak to playing just '17 and progression.

For issue 2 if you're on the 40 man roster and you still have option years when you get sent down you lose one of those years for that season. After that the player can go up and down all year long if you like. Players who have used all 3 option years when sent down have to go through waivers before being re-assigned to the minors or released. There was a previous discussion on option years that was more elaborate but that is the gist and it is how it is done in MLB.
