Give that a whirl and see what you think. I even tried Solid Hits + 2, but it almost seems a bit too much. The good news is that it does make a big difference though, so it's nice that we have the option if needed at least.

I'm with you: I generally don't like to mess around a ton with sliders either. The nice thing about The Show is there usually isn't a whole lot that needs tweaked.
I'll probably give it a shot. My batting average isn't bad really it's more just the extreme lack of power suddenly, in your opinion does solid hits inflate batting averages or is it more just the contact slider that alters it?

So If you if bump it up +1 on both solid hits and power... where are your sliders at now. Both at 6 or 7 ... what ? I'M curious. I want the game to have a realistic feel.. I rarely simulate a full game ... maybe an inning or two. I don't want to bump the sliders too too much and the game feel like a slugfest each and every game.

I don't see this issue. Homers are now balanced and it finally feels rewarding to hit them.

I agree... game is playing really well... other than the odd ball going through my bat ( actually happens more often now)

I had all the sliders at default and I just bumped up power and solid contact by +1. Its only been 10 games or so, but the numbers seem more realistic for me so far. If anything pre-patch I was hitting too many, although who doesn't like hitting lots of homeruns???

Essentially what Solid Hits does is make you hit more line drives on squared up pitches instead of popups or lazy flys, so it will increase HRs, but it will also make your batting average go up a bit. For me, this is ideal because, after the patch, I was seeing a lot of balls that should be smoked just end up as weak outs, so I was seeing less extra base hits in general...so this did the trick, in addition to increasing Power + 1.

Yep, just + 1 from the default on both (Power and Solid Hits).

Good to hear man. I'm seeing the exact same thing in terms of results. Absolutely loving the hitting with these simple adjustments. I'm hitting at least 1 HR per game, sometimes more, but also seeing more doubles in the gap, which I felt was lacking before as well.

It's definitely nerfed online from the sample size i played today 6/19. There probably testing hitting stealthy to get a feel of the community to arrive at a medium going forward. There is more % of hits like bloopers that outfielders cant get to, hits down the lines, and into the gap hits. A lot more pop ups, and weak fly balls. Scores have been like 1 - 0, 2 - 1 , 3- 1 type games. I hit 1 home run in each of the 3 games.

Well I gotta take back what I said, maybe it's a fluke but first game since commenting that power seemed down I went out and hit 4 HR's, racked up 15 hits and scored 13 runs in a 13-3 victory. I didn't change anything, figured I'd give it another few games before making any changes and glad I did. It wasn't just the top end power hitters that hit HR's either as Brett Lowrie (62 power), Robinson Cano (53 power) and Mitch Haniger (65 power) all hit HR's as well as Nelson Cruz (99 power) all off of LHP hence why Cano's power was so low.

                      Re: Hr's down after patch

I only play offline and agree the power seemed to be toned down after the patch. I didnt hit 600 ft shots either w/ the out of the box game, but the ball seemed to have more jump to it. Now it seems to lose that jump once it leaves the infield.

But my problem was just getting the ball out of the infield. FWIW I tried switching camera's and I'm doing better with MLB the show 15 camera. Seems like I get a better look at the pitch then the offset zoom I was using.

I still get balls dying on me so I'll try the simple sliders suggested here : Solid hits +1 and power +1.

I really hope there's some validity to this. My biggest gripe this year has been the crazy amount of home runs.

My buddy and I must be terrible hitters or at least terrible power hitters. We played a year and a half of franchise and are back to square one of still trying to create a slider set before we start a new franchise over. We continue to get sets that produce good swing and miss rates, good hit totals, good xbh totals, good walk totals, everything is where we want it except we cannot hit any HRs nor are we giving any up.

I feel like I am going crazy because all I've read on these forums is the insane amount of HRs the user and CPU can hit this year, but so far every field is playing like the Polo Grounds for us. I played 2 games yesterday with the set we're tweaking right now and both games each team had between 9-14 hits, yet I hit the only HR with Ian Desmond. There were two triples, 5 or doubles hit, and the rest were singles. Once I tweak up solid hits too much, then it feels like everything you swing at gets good wood on it constantly and it just turns into line drive city. Right now I am toying with a very low solid hits set with slightly raised power and it's producing the hit variety I want, but everything is making it to the warning track that has a shot of being a HR and then getting caught. One more bump in power may finally do the trick. I hope at least.

As far as RTTS home runs have not gone down with my player. Hitting about 2-3 Homeruns a game before and after patch. Dimond Dynasty is another story. I have a 88 average team and barely get 2 - 3 hits a game. No matter what setting I put hitting on I can't get a hit to save my life.

I think they tweaked it back up some. A sample size of 5 games 6/20 evening online there was more pop to batting again. Normal x swings the ball was being ripped. Was hitting homeuns with left handed hitters vs left handed pitching opposiite way, and towards rf with pitches I had no business getting homeruns.

Is it like 2k where the developers can adjust on the fly some of the settings without a patch. It definitely was improved this evening compared to yesterday.

Pretty much every other thread over at theshownation has been a complaint about how the latest patch completely ruined the game because of the hitting changed so drastically.
