Outfield is unfortunately the worst choice in RTTS, mainly because the camera angle is so awful. Also playing SS or 2B gives you a lot more action (you get to turn double plays, chances to tag out base stealers, etc.)

Re: Should I buy a PS4 for The Show
I didn't take long to make my decision. Picked up a Pro and The show after work and played RTTS. Played through evaluation and my first game with Central. I am a speedy center fielder and had a pretty good first game I felt for pretty much just jumping right in. I need to go back and study some controls, though as I am not sure if there is something I can push to sprint faster or dive for the ball while playing in the field.
There is nothing to make you run faster but to dive you press the R2 button and to jump you press the R1 button.
There is an option in the controller settings to change this to one button control, meaning you'll press R2 and the game will choose the appropriate action dive/jump based on the situation.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Should I buy a PS4 for The Show
Ended up a 2nd round draft pick to the Marlins. I felt like the game was playing too easy and didn't get why the pitchers constantly were throwing strikes. Then, I discovered I was playing on Beginner and switched it to the dynamic difficulty level. This is a pretty cool feature, especially for us just starting to play the game that will quickly get better.Comment

Re: Should I buy a PS4 for The Show
if money is not an issue and as long as you don't play online. Offline, the game is great. I don't play online , and after reading the horror stories, I'm glad I don't. I create my own throwback rosters using baseball almanac, old 70's game footage, baseball reference, and by memory.Comment

Re: Should I buy a PS4 for The Show
I see the OP already picked up the ps4 but for others on the fence:
the smart answer is yes, you should buy a ps4 for the Show
the smartass answer is no, buy an xbox for the Show
all jokes aside, as for other reasons besides the Show to get a ps4:

Re: Should I buy a PS4 for The Show
I have an Xbox 1 and have been considering buying a PS4 mostly just to play The Show.
I am not a baseball guy. I really do not watch it at all, but I have looked a lot into The Show and have been very intrigued by it and it has me so intrigued that I have considered buying a PS4 just to play The Show.
I did play baseball and know it pretty well, but really just have never cared to watch the sport.
So, I have been considering whether or not it is worth buying a PS4 for this one game (and the possibility of others). Part of the problem is that I only play Xbox now about a couple hours a week the way it is, so it isn't like I'll be playing a lot of of the PS4 if I do get one. I'm not worried about the money, but don't want to spend money on something that I end up not playing much.
Basically what I'm asking is, will I really get into The Show (RTTS is really what interests me) enough and are there other reasons/games etc. that would make a PS4 a good decision?
17 on release date was a classic game. I played the hell out of it for months. Then the last 2-3 patches just killed the game for me when it came to hitting and ball physics. It was perfect out of the box on release date, you could really see the difference and innovations. But now the game is more in step of 15/16.
There are multiple threads on here discussing this and i won't get into it. But to answer your question, you may feel like I felt w/ 15/16 where after maybe 2-3 weeks of playing, my PS4 collected dust until the next yearly release of the game.Comment

Re: Should I buy a PS4 for The Show
One of the main points is that I really don't care much for baseball, but this game was really intriguing to me, so I was trying to decide if I would actually really get into this game as well as other reasons that would make it worth buying a PS4 when I have an XB1. I did end up purchasing a PS4 Pro and The Show and am really enjoying RTTS, so for now I'm pretty happy with the decision.Comment
