    Disappointing All-Star Rosters?

Anyone else have really disappointing rosters for the All-Star teams in their franchise?

Not a single reliever was on the AL team (don't know about the NL). Every pitcher besides starting pitchers were closers, even though I had one or two relievers on my team that had ERAs barely above 1.00. In addition, the AL team had Jonathan Lucroy who was batting .188 with 7 HR and 20 RBIs, along with Brian Dozier hitting .220. I had plenty of people on my team who were worthy to be on the roster, yet somehow people like Manny Machado batting .280 with 14 HR and 48 RBI beat out my Todd Frazier batting .287 with 22 HR and 62 RBIs. I ended up with only two selections, being Jose Abreu and David Robertson.

I was really excited to get to this point in my franchise, but rather disappointed when seeing how awful some of these selections were. I get every team has to have at least one, but I mean Lucroy batting .188? Seriously?

I thought the structure of the all star team was good but there were a few guys who had horrible stats and had no reason to be on the all star bench.

This is another glitch that goes untouched because franchise gets untouched. In MLB 14, you'd have bench players hitting .170 (i.e. Marvin Gonzalez) make it at shortstop/second base over a guy hitting .290. I was hoping the addition of advanced stats would fix this but nope...sigh.

My Freddie Freeman who leads the league in HRs at the break and is top 10 in RBIs didn't make it. I thought it was maybe because he entered the break on a cold streak and an average in the .270's, but then I saw one of the 1B that made the game was batting .250 and had half the HRs and RBIs.

I wish the Show would give you a choice of candidates that you could choose to put on the teams. Maybe give you a list of 100 (50 each league) players and you checkbox the ones to be in the game. This would have to be optional though, for the people who would rahter the CPU pick teams.

For those who saw players on the All-Star team with poor stats, were they the only player from their respective team?

I think the reason why a couple of .230 and below hitters make the team is because of the rule that every team has to have at least one All-Star representative

I like this idea a lot. Makes it user-based and more interactive for us. I hope SCEA sees this.

In my experience, they usually are, but there have been some instances of multiple players from a team and one of them has really bad stats.

I'm not positive, but I know there had to have been somebody better on the Rangers than Lucroy batting .188, even if it meant a different position being taken away from someone who may deserve it a little more.

I don't recall ever running across the issue with multiple players from a team and one having poor stats. Every time I've run across the poor stat player he was the only representative from his team.

I'm sure there were players with better stats on the Rangers.

In my experience and from what I saw when looking into it, what happens is a team will not have a player ranked among the top vote getters for the All Star game. Since each team has to have a representative, the game will find the player with the lowest number of votes and replace him with the highest rated player on the 25 man roster at that position, regardless of stats.

For instance, using your example. What I'm guessing happened is that the Rangers didn't have anyone with enough votes to be voted into the All Star Game. And lets say that Yan Gomes had the least amount of votes out of all the vote getters, the game replaced Gomes as the 3rd catcher for the AL with Lucroy, despite Lucroy having poor stats.

My experience with it has been rare for sure. I'll also note I'm thinking about the last few iterations of the game. This year, the guys who shouldn't have made it have all been the only rep from their team. I should have been clearer before.

Yeah, I'm not saying that I haven't experienced it before, just that I don't remember it happening.
