Whats the best way to buy this game right now?

So, I havn't bought a baseball game in a few years, but being a Yankee fan, I'm excited about being able to play a roster without Tex and Arod on it. Also, maybe digitally they can stay healthier for more than a week at a time.

Looking at TheShow17, I'm currently seeing 3 basic options for purchase:

The $79 Digital Deluxe edition, which prob has way more stuff than I would need as a non obsessive fan.

The $49 All Star edition, which just was released and looks to have a good bit of free stuff and bonus's plus its digital and I could play on multiple ps4's.

And the basic vanilla disc version which I could pick up at BB for $32. If all of the add on stuff is really unnecessary then I guess this is the way to go.... but if I'm at all into DD, then the all star version really looks tempting.

Anyway, just looking for a little bit of advice before deciding to pick up this game.

Thanks for any help and or suggestions.

if you're thinking about diving into Diamond Dynasty then I would go with the All Star Edition for $49 since it has the free content.

If you're just going to play franchise mode then I would go with the basic for $32 at Best Buy using Gamer's Club.

How accessible is DD for a newer player? Are you actually playing online h2h against others with your team or are you playing against the AI?

I honestly have no idea as I don't play DD.

The only mode I play is franchise.

If playing DD is a definite thing for you then you should consider the middle option. However, if you are only curious about it then get the cheapest version. Stubs and cards aren't hard to accumulate in game, and you can make a pretty good team out of "value" cards.

DD is pretty easy to get into and there are good options for both Online and Offline play. Think of the mode like if you combined trading cards from your childhood with a stock market, where you got a combination of guys like me who are uninterested in DD and RttS and sell everything, and others who try and play the market, getting value picks they think will get better over the course of the season. You will get stubs and cards playing ANY mode, you'll just get them faster playing DD. So if you are unsure about DD there is still a way to try it without paying anything extra.

Couple words of warning: The offline experience is where the game shines. The Show is notorious for having issues with online play, both technically and community wise. This year OS has been flooded with complaints about technical issues with the online play.

If franchise is your game mode, the OS community is an essential resource for learning the game. This is true of any game mode really, but franchise can be a little intimidating to the new player, though they've taken steps this year to make it more accessible. Just do a search for any questions you might have and if your don't find anything, ask in the Q&A or Teach me/Strategies threads. Welcome to the Show!

You play either against the CPU or user depending on what challenge you're trying to complete. I don't play DD, I do collect the cards for the hell of it and would play it but I don't have Playstation+ and haven't for a few months since I don't play games online very often. I have looked into the options enough to see how it works though.

Thanks for all of the help and suggestions. I think the vanilla version is the way to go for me since there is soo much to do in the game without even bothering with DD.

Plus, worst case scenario, there's always trade in value for a hard copy, and as slow as my ps4 downloads games, 2 day shipping will prob have it here first anyways.
