    Pitching question

Am new to mlb 17 and need help on pitching. When a batter first comes up the plate is broken down in red squares aclear ones. Are the red squares where I should pitch to that batter or are those the spots the batter likes.

Red Squares = Hot Zone...Locations the batter likes to hit the ball.

    Clear Squares = Neutral

Blue Squares = Cold Zone...Locations the batter stuggles to hit the ball

doesn't matter, it's gimmicky nonsense that makes no difference, turn it all off.

Actually it's my experience that the zones do matter.

LOL you are both right! It is a bit gimmicky and I turned it off. It does give bonuses and penalties to hit balls in those zones but they are a minimal 5%.

Where did you see that it gives bonuses and penalties?

One of the Devs, I think Brian Ma answered that 2-3 years ago iirc.

And I love that too, it's adding to realism.

When at bat, pay close attention attention and you'll see opposing pitchers trying to take advantage of those blue spots !!

When you turn the zones off, do they no longer have their affect or am I thinking of 2k?

That's correct. There is no effect with the zones off
