Yeah this is unfortunate. I am able to steal bases but each time on I am on base I automatically have the right stick held back toward the bag. Even with my fastest reflex I have never made it back to the bag with out holding the right stick. I am currently in August of my Franchise.

I just had a thought maybe it's tied to the difficulty level? I play on Legend but I don't want to sacrifice the difficulty to be able to dive back more easily. I am going to try it on Beginner to see what happens.

However I do find this a million times better than the ShowTime Slow Mo effect that was present in MLB 16. That was a automatic safe each time! I hope Show Time and Slow Mo Effects never return to this game.


I will note that they fixed the base running (Patch 1.09) for RTTS and Player Locked players when pressing the stick up to increase speed. It no longer shakes the screen uncontrollably. It's not completely gone but its definitely less noticeable. So I will take that any day!

I'm on Hall of Fame, so it's not just Legend. Only other thing I can think of is I am playing a short speed infielder, maybe the lack of reach is somehow having an effect? Still no way to get back to the bag without diving too.

So many little issues like this absolutely kill the mode for me this year.

Played into my 4th year so far and never had this problem.

It is very hard to avoid being picked off without holding back the whole time.

I disagree. I have no problems at all not getting picked off. Actually wish it was a little harder. But that's just my experience.

After downloading the last patch last night my user profiles were gone and it acted as thoughthis was the first time playing the game. The issues with the starters being pulled early is back, and HR's are back to where they were in April as well. Got the day off so if anyone has any ideas I'd love to know

I love the game, but I really wish they'd fix the rocket bunting with one of these patches. The ability to sacrifice a runner over is kind of important for us NL users.

Might try what I found to work the best. Have a speed guy batting in the 8 spot and bunt down the first baseline. That is were I have the best results.

He's talking about bunts in general. The majority of bunts in this game would reach the dirt and possibly outfield grass if they weren't fielded. It's completely unrealistic. I don't know how many drag bunts I've hit that were fielded with steps of the 2nd base bag. If I want to sacrifice anyone over I'm better off swinging down and very early to hit a bouncer in front of the plate over trying to bunt.

I've had to implement a house rule to stop turning double plays on sac attempts because if I didn't I'd get it turned every single time.

Any time I need to get a sac bunt in my franchise I'm forced to always use Quick Manage.

No, power has actually been nerfed. Sliders are your only option.

Always try to bunt toward the first baseman with a runner on first. I've found that a lot of time the benefit is that it will initiate a tag animation and prevent the double play.

I'm not having issues with my own power, my team is ranked 18th in power per the standings screen and I'm hitting just short of 1.20 HR's per game. The feedback after a patch is so varied I got no idea how the developers realistically know what to fix and what not too. For every person that says hitting got worse you have someone else who is dumbing down their sliders because it's too easy.

Yeah exactly. When people say things like I played one game and if we're back to the dead ball era then I'm done...oh wait, that was you who said that.

Touche but in my defense I didn't claim it was any different, I merely said if it continued down that path I wasn't interested in playing anymore while also asking what others were seeing. Due to my time being limited to 1 game a day a majority of the week if a patch drops I have to rely on others feedback to see what potentially was changed.

I have zero issues with my hitting, my actual issue when it comes to offense is the CPU doesn't hit for enough power actually. I'm going to have to increase their power as they are too passive and have warning track power most times. With sliders, multiple ways to play, all the different ways people play and all the different expectations as to what happens, I just don't know how a patch will ever "fix" the game for those that are unhappy with it. At some point people are just going to have to tweak the sliders until they can get as close to what they want and just play, myself included, as I'd almost prefer they stop patching entirely for fear of any side effects of them trying to fix something.
