Incorrect Calls on "Half Swings" by Umpires (Home and 1st/3rd Base)

Hey, has anyone else noticed how bad the calls are relating to appealed strikes to the first/third base umps? (Home plate umps too, as I'll explain.)

While there's no actual definition for a "swing," I can tell you that barely starting a swing with wrists not even half-cocked, or the shoulders barely twisted, is not worthy of a strike. It seems like 80% of these 10% swings are called strikes on appeal, or sometimes called by the home plate ump himself without appeal.

Conversely, I've had near full swings where the bat clearly passes the plane of the plate called no swing. Would turning off appeals work? I so like the concept of keeping them on. I guess it wouldn't eliminate the erroneous home plate swing calls, but maybe it's worth it anyway? I love how realistic the game feels this year, but this is a gigantic issue for me.

is this based on online play? because there is a delay there, where it may look like the bat crosses the plane on our screen but not register on the servers.

      Nope, solely offline. Franchise.

Absolutely turn it off. You actually get a better called game. It seems to be based on the type of swing with this off. If I power swing , the check swing still gets called quite a bit and rarely gets called with a contact swing, and standard swing is pretty much in between. Its rather uncommon for me to stray from the standard swing too much, so your mileage may vary, but it has been the 1st thing I turn off in the game for several years now

I always turn it off and am pretty happy with the results of doing so. I check swing a lot more than the CPU does (I dont think they really do it near enough) so it seems like a one sided mechanic meant to punish the user. Not really something interesting that adds to the game.
