Do you mean in game or actual franchise stuff like drafting, schedule, player development etc? As I don't think they've patched any franchise stuff specifically? (although fixing the early pitcher hook made a huge difference in franchise)Comment

Gameplay-wise -- I played a game last night for the first time in about a week, and the one thing at this point in the year that frustrates me the most is...how often pitchers get hit with batted balls. It's RIDICULOUS. It happens to me, literally, at least once a game and usually twice or more. It's as a close to a game-breaker as anything for me.
EDIT: I think the quirks might have been addressed in a previous patch -- not 100% sure. Or maybe it was said that the K quirk was visual and didn't affect play at all...Comment

One franchise thing that did need addressing, don't know if it has, was the computer pinch hitting with it's backup catcher, then pinch hitting for their primary catcher and ending up with a position player dropping every ball at catcher.
I don't know if that's been fixed yet as it wasn't that common that you could instantly tell if it's been fixed, I've probably only played 20 franchise games recently and they were in the AL so even less likely do it to happen.Comment

Game is the best its been but what needs fixing is:
1. Just late swings on inside pitches resulting in HR or deep ball.
2. Commentary Accuracy
3. Rookies salary does not change when called up resulting in negative morale impact.
Will add to this.Comment

Honestly, I love the show. Year to year saves is the best thing (for me) to ever happen in a sports video game. The year they did that was the year they won me for life. That being said, as an offline only franchise only player, I feel the game mode has criminally ignored, and I want more attention given to the mode, especially to legacy issues. As you can see, I have some mixed feelings on the subject.
Bullpen/Pitcher logic is my main gripe. More robust trade system (at least 5 spots and cash considerations) would be next, but I'm heavily drifting into wish list territory. I've said my piece in that thread.

I am with you Warmwind.
Lineup/pitching logic needs an upgrade
Trade logic has gotten better but is still iffy but 30 team control does make that aspect at least for me personally a blast. Creating my own trades and storylines for me is so much fun and easy to do.
Commentary while vastly improved this season, still is not nearly dynamic enough when you compare it to the gold standard that is NBA 2K. Absolutely nothing talked about in the way of trades, injuries, pennant races etc. And after the all-star break (playing 81 games I have heard everything) I have shut it off and won’t turn it back on till the post season.
Inside franchise mode we have the radio show....and I love it. But we need a hot stove/monthly wrap up show of some sort. I want to hear trade rumors, contract rumors, winter meeting results....even if it were text based newspapers or tweeter feeds (like Madden) just make me feel like the league is a living breathing thing. I have a good imagination (from playing old school baseball games like Baseball Stars and Bases Loaded 2) and create my universe within my mind, but I think with todays consoles we can have more...just more AAA presentation.
Gameplay itself is stellar this year.....I am really happy with the strides they made with ball physics and humanity AI.....truly awesome. Now Playing on PS5:

MLB The Show 25 - 2025 Yankees Year 1

Re: What things still need fixed in franchise that haven't been fixed with the patche
Lineup logic, player moral, and rookie salaries are all connected.
When you call a guy up for the first time, his salary doesn't adjust -- this affects morale. This is "broken" and should be an easy fix.
"Star" expectation is solely tied to lineup position -- first, third, or fourth, both against R and L. That's ridiculously simplistic, and should be an easy fix.
I think expectations should be as follows: everyday starter, 25 man roster, 40 man roster, organizational depth. For pitchers it should be as follows: MLB ace (93/whatever and above), front-end rotation (1-3), rotation (anywhere 1-5), bullpen, closer, organizational depth.
Humanity AI is nice, but there's still lots of wonkiness -- the catcher standing and staring at the backdrop after a wild pitch, the fielder rifling the ball to the pitcher who's backing up 3rd when a play ends, batters not getting out of the way on pop ups, fielders crowding on pop ups, etc. Minor stuff, but would make a big difference if they all got ironed out.
As far as trade logic -- I run several franchises at once, and one is always allowed to take advantage of the AI. Some things that are broken -- you can't trade cpu-generated FA you sign at the start of the Franchise until NEXT YEAR; draftees can be had in trades for peanuts as soon as they're trade-eligible...these two things are "broken" and should be easy fixes.Comment

They can still just hugely improve all the logic that they currently have though, improve the training so it actually makes sense, change the drafting so you get more realistically rated rookies, improve trade and roster logic so the computer makes more realistic decisions etc etc. All that stuff could be dramatically improved and it would hugely increase the quality of franchise mode, just not sure "improved trade logic" sounds sexy enough to flog enough extra copies for them to bother prioritising it though unfortunately.Comment

When I fast forward a game the pitch count doesnt start at zero for a relief pitcher. I'm hoping that will get fixed.Comment

trade logic is my #1. using the tigers and irl they've got like six players with contracts that make them virtually un-tradable; but when i use the "suggest trade" feature, the whole stinking league is interested in all of them, with kickass returns to boot. does the ai even consider value-for-dollar?
i'd also really like to see them tweak dynamic attendance. way too many people at most games and their distribution is awful (empty upper deck with full lower deck, eg; sorry but that's straight trash).Comment
