    Pitching Change on Quick Counts

When I have quick counts on, I am unable to make a pitching change in the middle of an inning before the next at-bat begins and the count goes to 3-2, 2-0, etc. Say you get a right handed batter out and want to bring in a lefty to face a lefty batter. Is there a trick to make the pitching change before the next at bat begins?

I mean, to be honest, if I have a righty on the mound and I want to pull him to put in a lefty, or just any other reliever, then I just make the switch and then assume the second reliever started the at bat, because on quick counts, you're gonna fast forward into the middle of the at bat no matter what.

I guess that works, it just feels weird making a pitching change in the middle of an AB (unrealistic).

its why quick counts suck IMO. but to be as realistic as possible with QC on, you probably just have to bring in a reliever at the start of the next inning.

I found a possible workaround for this if you go into Quick Manage and then change pitcher through there I believe it resets the count.

Did you try this? you say you "believe" it resets the count. If you have a workaround shouldn't you try it first?

QC have been requested for years. Glad they put it in. Like one poster said, just pretend the new pitcher did it.......it's a video game.

It doesn't bother me about the count because I just assume it's the count you start off with when a new guy comes in anyways

A halfway workaround: if you're planning for your RP at the start of the inning, go into the Bullpen through the menu and schedule him to come in for the next inning while you're at the plate. Then you'll be prompted, asking if you still want to bring him in and this will happen before a pitch has been thrown even in Quick Counts. Only works for the start of an inning though.

I "believe" it worked because I dont have access to my Playstation as I am in the middle of a move. I seem to remember it resetting the count but I dont know without a doubt. If anyone wants to try it they are more than welcome but I dont have access to my Playstation.

Re: Pitching Change on Quick Counts

I think it would be cool to have a quick quick count option that is available for each at bat. In certain situations, I like to ambush the first pitch which you can't ever do with QC. I gave up on QC from the outset, just not realistic.

Re: Pitching Change on Quick Counts

The problem with quick count is if you bring in a reliever in the middle of an inning, if the count favors the batter (1-0, 2-0, 3-1 etc.) and you walk the batter, the walk is given to the pitcher you replaced. If that player eventually scores, the run is counted against the pitcher you pulled.

By MLB rules, that is correct. If a pitcher is replaced mid count and the count favors the batter, the removed pitcher is responsible for him.

If they add one step to the process it would eliminate this problem. When a new batter steps into the box, don't automatically generate the new count. Require us to hit X to generate the quick count. This would give us the opportunity to change pitchers first.
