    Young Starters With Low Stamina?

Does it make sense to waste any time/effort on young starters with low (sub 70) stamina, given they never progress? For example, in my Cubs franchise, using the OFSM Hybrid rosters, I have Dylan Cease as a Top 50 prospect, tearing it up in AA ball, but he only has a stamina rating of 64. Similarly, my number 2 draft pick, a SP, was revealed to be a 75 overall at 20 yrs old with B potential, but again a stamina in the lows 60s. Are these players useless as starters, or can a starter pitch decently in the majors with such low stamina?

In sims they will struggle and get pulled quick.

This is a clear cut flaw in the progression recession system

Not if you invent a system for stamina progression, they aren't useless. For some reason, pitcher stamina is exempt from progression/regression, so you have to do it manually.

Not exempt from regression, all of my pitchers lose at least 1 point per season in stamina

So how much do you guys that manually progress it add to the new pitchers per year?

Might be the nerd in me, but I roll a dice. Somewhere between 1-6 seems fair for stamina upgrade each year until they are maybe 25

Use an edits scale of stamina based on the overall rating of SP for veterans and prospects, based on their grade potential.

                99 - elite

                95 - all-star

                90 - innings-eater

                85 - average/A-potential prospect

80 - lowest stamina to give to any SP/B/C/D/F-potential prospect

Closers - give all a 50-Stamina rating to reduce BSV #'s and give them a lower ERA. you will then get accurate overall SVS %'s. you also need to re-rate their clutch @ 95/90/85/80 (lowest) to help them in Clutch situations.

If they go over 175 innings and their stamina is below 75, I'll bump it to 75. If they go over 190 innings and it's below 80, I'll bump it to that. If they go over 200 innings and it's below 85, I'll bump it to that. If it's over 85 and they go over 200 innings, I'll bump it up 3 points.

yes, it helps the Closer Pitch deeper in Save Situations.
with reliever stamina slider ZERO. they definitely tweaked the Closer's in a recent patch. I have QM over a thousand games and Closers blew waayyy to many saves. Now, they are right at real MLB numbers. that is, at least with the Stamina and Clutch Scale I implement.

So you manually edit every starting pitcher? That seems a bit time consuming . . .

it is worth it and not a big deal. if roster makers can do all they do, then we sure as hell should do edits as well.

That will depend on the person and it can be argued we shouldn't have to do anything remotely close to this. I used to do edits every season in my NCAA dynasties which was lot more players than in this game, but nowadays I don't feel like finding the time to edit even players just on my team. I want to come home at night and instantly be in my franchise ready to go without the hassle of editing even 1 player.

I think a lot of people are very happy that they have the ability to edit such things. Otherwise they would be stuck with a flawed game and have to hope for and then wait for patches to fix it.
