With the right slider and roster combo, I definitely recommend it.

If you have a Pro, I say yes for the framerate jump alone.

This. I'm very sensitive to framerate issues and the ones in 16 (even with the Pro's boost mode) made it very difficult to play in certain stadiums. With 17's Pro optimizations, that worry is a thing of the past.

There's a lot of criticism surrounding the gameplay in this year's game, but being able to actually play the game without having to dumb it down due to tech issues automatically puts it over '16 for me.

16 is fine for me. i might upgrade once they can add something similar to myleague and team expansion in 2k. i love the option to create teams and add them to the league with an expansion draft. why they haven't done this yet, i have no idea. i like diamond dynasty and all, but....

Don't have 16 or 17. How does 17 play on a regular PS4? Really want to play The Show but also am hesitant about getting 17 if there's too many issues re: gameplay or frame rate. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

17 is playing much better than 16 did. I had to change off my preferred cameras to make 16 playable but the only framerate dips I see in 17 are during scene transitions. Gameplay is smooth and steady. (Regular PS4 user)

Yeah I have to agree with this. While I'm playing 16 more now, the framerate even on normal ps4 is much better on 17.

Probably catch some flack for saying this but The Show simply isn't worth the AAA pricing in its current state. It's well worth the $20-$30 used price on eBay that it crashed to a few months ago though. Pick up a clean used copy and enjoy until next year's release.

Should I wait for Black Friday?

I guess you could. Not sure how much cheaper it will go.

The game is well worth the $25/$30 asking price at Best Buy

like some others said during cut scenes it's really terrible, like beyond bad. Gameplay is steady but not anything near 60fps smooth.

I actually got a ps4 pro for that reason and I have to say it's awesome, finally a PS that can handle The Show this gen.

I must admit I became very senstive to framerate recently. Been watching a lot of MLB and NHL.tv a 60fps and that totally spoiled me.
