Surprised this hasn't been posted yet... But The Show did a bat flip competition and if these are any indication, it looks like they are adding a bunch of bat flips to the game... I wonder how many and if you're able to pick any bat flip with any stance?

Didn't he say they were adding them to the game in the video? Why motion capture a bat flip contest if there's no intention of using them?

Do we see the bat flips in the game? I don't. Even with the replays I don't think I've seen any. Guy hits a home run it immediately cuts to the field (which it has to). Maybe if the replays focus solely on the bat flip, but otherwise?

The batter only does a flip when it's a no-doubter... And you see it on the home run cam and then when they show the replay... But the annoying part about when they show it on the replay is that they normally cut it off midway.

Ahhh.. I see now. I thought the question was to vote which one was more "stylish" because that was attached to the post. Seems like a little bit of a loaded competition --- whatever Judge did was going to win in a Twitter poll... Especially when he's going up against a Twitch streamer lol

I find it concerning that this is the type of stuff that they are using to promote the game. They have been posting images from 17 for several weeks now and now they use a bat flip competition as content for 18. Meanwhile no trailer of any actual info for the new game.

This type of content is what they usually do at the end of the cycle closer to release after they have released key features of the game.

To be honest the flair/emotional aspect of baseball being in the game is hugely important to me... Bat flips being one of those things. I doubt sprinkling some new emotion animations into the game is going to take anything away from any other part of the game.

I’m not too worried about the lack of information. There’s plenty of time.

No arguments from me there... I think the little bat flip competition was just something for social media and I agree I hope the bat flips don’t become too cartoonish. If they just add some arcade style bat flips and nothing else when it comes to flair then that’s mad tone deaf

We had great emotions in MLBTS 16, didn’t see any other than the occasional pitcher fist pump after big strikeout. But in 16 there were celebrations at Second base pointing at the dugout, 1st/3rd base coach.

If it is a no doubter, and they need to make more homeruns no doubters, it’s pretty realistic to know you got a good hold of one and know its going out without it going 10+ rows back. Even throw in a few “no doubters” that end up being off top of the wall. That would add a lot to the fun of things and humor.

Need camera replay other than HR Celebration Cam to enjoy bat flips on no doubters. The current replay system doesn’t show enough of the bat flip

In an opposite way, this is why I have some faith that we'll be getting some good visual upgrades. They have indeed been posting 17 pics on Twitter for a while now. I think they could have easily just been posting tease pics of 18 here & there but if there weren't any clear differences, then what's the point. Now hopefully there's a nice upgrade that they can wait till the very end and drop the bombshell. That's my hope anyway.

Well its something...... dont really care about bat flips, but it is a "new" walha for the game. Would rather them put the exact same game out as 17 with better logic and not needing to use 30 team control and little things fixed like wild pitches that really should be nothing more then pitches in the dirt. Its still early though, so, I guess "OH WOW" bat flips, yipee

I don't mind a bat flip if the bat flipper doesn't mind "wearing one" in their next at bat.
