    Better late than never!!

Ok well pretty much since this game came out I have not been able to hit even on rookie. Just tonight I happened to notice that I just like hitters do have a hitch in my swing so to speak.

I noticed that I was bringing my finger off the button upon release of the pitch like a hitter would bring his foot up. well, i told myself to keep the finger on the button and would you believe I started hitting better?

I did the same thing with pitching with meter and I started pitching better also. No, i just think how much time I wasted getting frustrated and all that and rage quitting so many times over the lifetime of this game

well, at least I figured out my own flaw before 18 dropped so that I can now focus on getting better before it drops..

Interestingly enough, it's exactly the opposite for me for hitting. If I keep my finger on "x" I have trouble catching up to fastballs because it gives me the feeling that I have more time to read the pitch. If I "trigger" (aka lift my finger off of the "x" button) when the pitcher brings his arm up, much like when a hitter triggers in real life, my timing is way better and I'm able to pull fastballs. For me, I think it's just a rhythm and feel thing.

I don't know why I can't hit, must be a mental block. No problems pitching though

It took me a long time and a lot of practice to become a good hitter. When you master it, you find yourself knowing whether to swing or not about midway through the pitch. When you get fooled, you can also spoil a pitch.

I using timing hitting. Some people think this is the easiest mode. I strongly disagree. I think it's the most accurate and difficult imho.

When you do get the hang of it you will walk more and work the count a lot more.

        I play on all-star hitting.

Definitely agree with you. I love directional/timing hitting. I play on HoF hitting/Legend Pitching (Mike Lowe's sliders). I love how it takes ratings into account more and isn't as much of a reflection of good or poor stick skills. I feel that each player plays true to their real-life counterparts.

Also agree with you on walks, as I'm averaging 3.34 BB/9 while batting and 3.26 BB/9 while pitching. So, it definitely feels the most balanced that I've ever had on any iteration of the Show.

I tried to use timing hitting after they changed the hitting window in '13 and just got tired of the random PCI. I've used zone since. I applaud those that can use it but it frustrated me to the point where I played very little of '13 because of it.

Yep. I’ve used timing for the last couple years. I personally think it’s actually more difficult because you can time it really well and still whiff based on the players ratings. It’s less consistent than being really good at zone. And I personally think it gives more accurate statistics.
