Please fix cpu pitchers throwing sliders and other offspeed pitches on pitch outs.

Not sure if you guys have noticed this, it’s not a huge deal, but extremely unrealistic.

I've never seen this in hundreds of games. Are you sure the pitcher isn't just using the slide-step?

I have seen this occasionally. It happens because the game automatically uses that pitchers “number 1” pitch for the pitch out. The majority of pitchers, this is a fastball, but for a few (Tanaka comes to mind) it is some sort of offspeed pitch so that is what the game uses.

I've seen that too. Games against pitchers who don't even have a fastball are weird in general. This is one symptom. Makes it REALLY easy to lay off of those.

this is weird and specific enough that it will probably never get fixed unless someone makes a bug report for it on The Show's official website.

I don’t think that’s it. I’ve seen it guys that do have a fastball as the number one pitch.

I thought about this thread today when I saw the same thing. Gerrit Cole of the Pirates threw me a changeup as a pitchout. His changeup is in the high 80s though, so it wasn't quite something that I could take advantage of though, lol.

Did you do anything weird/different before the AB that could have caused it? Like calling for a timeout in the box or pause the screen, mess with the bullpen or anything? My thinking is maybe they called a pitch and then the player did something before that pitch was thrown, then they call a pitchout and that pitch is used instead of the fastball.

It's a weird thing, I think I've seen it a few times but seems to be very intermittent.

Or maybe it has something to do with pitch confidence, like if his fastball confidence is extremely low or something.

It shouldn’t matter. It should set to a fastball by default from the devs. It doesn’t always happen maybe 10-15% of the time. Just kills the immersion of an mlb sim.

Not the point. When you're trying to do bug reports you need to give info so they can identify and fix the bug. The devs could try to replicate this thousands of times and not be able to do so, hence your bug doesn't get fixed.

I also don't think it happens 10-15 percent of the time, where'd you get that number?

And if it's happening that often to you and not most other people, again it makes that question there really relevant so we might know what causes it to happen.

In my most recent example, I did nothing at all to trigger it. I had a pretty good, but not great baserunner on first. I did not tell him to steal, and did not increase his leadoff. I had not stolen a base or attempted to in the game to that point.

Unless the CPU just knows that its my M.O. from previous games, because I like to steal and hit & run, he had no really good reason to throw the pitchout there regardless. And yet he threw the changeup pitchout on the first pitch of the next at bat.
