Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation
Just wondering, what would make you happy with the commentary? Or at least turn it on? Not being confrontational, just curious as to what people are looking for.Comment

Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation
I think what people are looking for simply can't be done., that would be to have weekly updated commentary lines.Comment

or just simply updating Matts lines/delivery instead of copy pasting them from 10 years ago. Looking at the intro for example!Comment

They also have so few player specific lines. That always annoys me. I don't know why it would be hard to say "Here's a comebacker to Kershaw, and he makes the toss for first to retire the side." Just something as simple as that instead of "it's a comebacker to the pitcher, and he throws him out." It's so bland and generic.I think the biggest issue is there is no dynamics to the commentary
If the score is 15-0 in the 9th, with 2 outs and a home run is his to make it 15-0 they will always say 'hang on a minute it aint over yet they still have life in them'. when it really should say 'it's all but to late'
and if a miracle comeback did happen. their would be no mention of them saying 'holy cow back from 15-0 down can you believe it! it would just be a generic line thrown in.
and everytime they talk about a starting pitching they talk about "he has a ERA of XXXX, he is not doing so well' he has a ERA of 2! he is doing great!
same with averages. they never talk about other important stats like OBP or WHIp or even WARAtlanta Braves
Atlanta Falcons
Auburn Tigers
Detroit Red Wings
Winnipeg JetsComment

Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation
What good would that even be in a franchise mode that is disconnected from reality though? For example, I don't want to hear about Harper's 20 game hit streak or Kershaw throwing a no-no in his last start if those happened in real life, but didn't happen in my franchise.
I think NBA references too much real-life stuff during its franchise mode, to be honest....Comment

Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation
I think the best video game commentary was the old All-Star baseball games with Thom Brennanman and Steve Lyons. Sounded more like a real broadcast than any other game I can think of.
Also, as I mentioned before, I think The Show's biggest issue is having a 3-man booth. Just doesn't flow.Atlanta Braves
Atlanta Falcons
Auburn Tigers
Detroit Red Wings

There are always limitations in sports video games commentary, can't be helped.
I'm happy that their making improvement and won't judge til I've played a few games in March.Comment

Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation
To be fair, Harold was pretty terrible in real life during the postseason. Said things that just made no sense at times. He was a lot better in The Show than any broadcast I’ve heard in real life.Comment

Anastasia Bryzgalova. She’s a curler in the Russian mixed doubles team (her husband just got popped for PED’s and they’ll likely lose their bronze medal lol).Last edited by GoDucks1224; 02-19-2018, 06:39 PM.Comment

Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation
I would not make any reference to the current season, your right there, but I think their would be potential add in new lines, particularly for rookies that have no name audio and just say 'number 27' that would be more important. What good would that even be in a franchise mode that is disconnected from reality though? For example, I don't want to hear about Harper's 20 game hit streak or Kershaw throwing a no-no in his last start if those happened in real life, but didn't happen in my franchise.

You would have the commentary refer to the happenings in the video game season. What good would that even be in a franchise mode that is disconnected from reality though?
