Controller Delay?

Didn’t find anything on this already in the forums. Sometimes when I fire up the game, there’s a significant lag in the timing of when I press X to swing vs when it registers in the game. This also carries over to pitching as well. It’s a very noticeable difference and causes me to be late on all my swings and pitches. It makes the game unplayable really. So I end up quitting the application and going back into the game, restarting the PS4 altogether, loading and reloading my sliders settings, etc. I’ll do that a number of times and sometimes the lag goes away, sometimes it doesn’t and I just have to play another game instead.

Has anyone encountered this? It’s ruining the game for me. I was planning on sitting down for a few hours to play today but after 4 attempts it’s unplayable and I’m switching to madden.

Does it occur if you have the controller plugged in?

Also have you tried resetting the controller and re-syncing it?

I've had this issue when starting the ps4 from rest mode. Turing controller off/on and closing/restarting game doesn't seem to help. If I restart the whole PS4 system it usually does though.

Make sure you have your tv set to game mode as well

Did you ever fix this issue??? I’m having it now and it’s horrible. It’s crossed over into kicking on Madden. Please let me know how you fixed this.

Have you by any chance changed the HDMI portal on your TV that you plug your PS4 in to? This happened to me a few months ago with the show and I popped in madden and the same thing happened. I switched back to the old HDMI portal and everything was fine

Me thinking that maybe your controller is dying and it might be time for a new one. I've got to play with my controller plugged in because it just doesn't hold a charge anymore because it's old. I just haven't been able to buy a new one.

Normally I'd say it was your tv, and be done with it, but since it's only happening on occasion, my guess is it's an issue with the Bluetooth communication. It could be your controller, it could be your PlayStation, or it could be both, but it sounds like one of the devices transmitters/receivers is starting to go.
