You don't unlock them for offline play - the ones that are in the game should be immediately available. I can't verify whether all of these guys were in the roster when '17 launched, but there are over 70 playable legends in the game right now. I'm guessing they were all there at game launch, but can't say for sure since we're almost a year removed now.

"Legend" designation is used rather liberally since Karros (81 OVR) and Reynolds (86) are considered as such by the game (and I'm including them in the 70), but I'm not counting the developers' players who are no better than 60 OVR.

It is nice to have all these legends but until they introduce classic teams, there only worth is micro transaction trash based DD.

I find plenty of worth and enjoyment in a fantasy draft franchise with the legends included. But that's just me.

I wouldn’t have any use for these legends, either. I don’t touch DD and I would never put them in my franchise. It’s nice for others that they are there, but I would prefer classic teams with classic uniforms.

As someone who goes to my fair share of A's games, it was nice to see (during the brief Rollie Fingers clip) that the Rickey Henderson Field logos and Holy Toledo! sign made it into the digital Coliseum this year. It's a shame to see that the upper deck still had tarps on it, though.

This is a nice to have as far as I am concerned. I think the roster guys do a better job creating classic teams, players, and past seasons that can be used in season mode anyway. I wouldn't play with these guys as I can play with full real teams from the past thanks to the talented roster makers here.

Already confirmed no new classic stadiums. Pretty disappointing. So much potential with all of these Legends. You could incorporate them into your franchise. Not sure if it's licensing, resources, time or what.

This makes me yearn for a proper create-a-team feature, and vault, so badly.

Best case scenario: I would LOVE for them to let us use created teams in all game modes, so that the roster creators could create throwback teams and set the proper uniforms to be the default Home/Away unis. Would be terrific, too, if they would let us export, upload, and download these individual created teams with the community. I understand you can get a similar result by putting all of the players for said throwback team onto a modern day roster, and then use one of the old school alternates each game, but it's not quite the same.

Giving us a create-a-team feature like this could also help quiet the requests for more throwback uniforms, too...

The team has done a really nice job of allowing us to edit players to make them look like they played in their respective eras.......buuut would it kill them to add some retro low tops or any type of retro cleat?? [ATTACH]146875[/ATTACH]The franklin gloves are perfect, but it’s hard to find some accurate looking non-generic shoes. I really wish they’d add some low-top retro nike clippers like these. Theyd look accurate for 1950s-90s players.

Completely agree. Really wish they would/could add more classic equipment besides just the Griffeys. Add them and more classic unis and stadiums and I’d be completely content at that point even with all the other flaws.

I'm still waiting for the day you can play as these legends as 18-year-olds in RTTS.

And I don't mean copying their skill set for a created player, either--I mean actually looking like them.

All I want to do is see if I can get Nolan Ryan that Cy Young Award that evaded him his whole real-life career, that's all. Not some generic dude with the same name that the commentators call "Nolan...Ryan".

It's an offline mode. Who am I hurting by doing this?

I can't wait until MLB the Show 19 when we hopefully get Mariano Rivera in as a Legend. He's going into the HOF next year....hopefully he's in the game.

I'll make him my closer and use him in Franchise. I don't even care that he's retired. lol
