Didn't the Developers say this was being removed from the game entirely?

I noticed this in the RTTS twitch yesterday. I don't want to start an argument, more so I'm just curious, but didn't the developers say these types of things were removed from the game entirely? And if so, why would a developer option still exist for something like this? I'm honestly just confused as to why something like this even exists as a developer option. Any feedback is welcome, but I would like to keep it civil.

If I had to guess, I would say it has something to do with getting the AI to perform a certain way while they are play testing the game.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

That was the first thing I thought as well when I looked at this thread

I think this is a way for the devs to get the comeback code and foul ball logic into the game.

        Those sneaky sneaks, them!

I agree with this. If anything, the screen capture appears to imply that the devs do try reproducing *user cheats* exploiting AI weakness, which they have to know how to do if they care to squash them... which must be a good thing!

You do realize that games are nothing but long strings of code patched together, right? Another word for code is script.

What I'm saying is, there is actually foul ball logic in the code. That's why it has a slider to adjust the frequency, because it isn't a pure bat hitting ball system based on physics. It's based on programmed logic.

There's no comeback code, but to think that the AI doesn't slightly adjust difficulty based on situations probably isn't accurate either.

Rob was being sarcastic. He just forgot the /sarcasm/ tags

I know he was, but I also know what his stance is on this subject.

Well, if his stance is there is no comeback code or "scripting" in the game, then he is correct.

Other than the "Dynamic Difficulty" setting there is no "adjustment" being made to accommodate an outcome, but you know that by now.

The OP will stop at nothing to have another thread about comeback code. It's truly an impressive amount of dogged determination spanning several years. Captain Ahab didn't care quite this much about a whale.

As a software developer, I can say this stuff is completely normal as its the only way to "force" certain behaviors (like countryboy stated earlier). This goes for software in all domains, not just games.

We aren't doing these conspiracy theory threads. There is no comeback code, and everyone in this thread has done a good job explaining why those options could be in their widget tools. We're done here.
