PS4 Pro question regarding hdr mode

Hey guys i’m looking for some advice on getting the PS4 Pro. I know that when I’ve hooked up a PS pro to my Sony 940 D 75 inch TV but it set the tv into HDR mode. Which increases the input lag to about 53 ms compared to 33 ms when it’s in game mode. I actually bought one a couple months ago from Best Buy and tried it out my TV, the input lag was so high that it made the game almost unplayable due to input lag. I’m Thinking of buying another PS4 for and putting my old one in my sons room and keeping the PS4 Pro for myself, my question I guess is if I don’t plan on using hdr mode is the enhanced visuals and frame rate worth it. Do you guys play the game in HDR mode on your TV? I’m thinking about continuing playing the game in game mode and getting the better graphics, even though I know the new hdr mode is the new thing.

So does your TV not do HDR while in Game Mode? HDR shouldn't really affect input lag. The increase in lag you experience is because of the extra processing power of the picture mode, not because of HDR.

But anyway, I think the high frame rate is worth it. Personally I use enhanced visuals because it's still smooth.

It does and hdr mode but not hdr game mode like some if the newer TVs. I bought it 2 years ago. It came out at 7999. I got it for 4200. It’s a great tv in game mode; and Sony has released a patch to help with the input lag in hdr mode but I’m really picky on lag. I have a 55 inch Sony 9 series in my master bedroom that does 19ms of lag which is great, that 55 inch is the one they rolled out the ps4s with at demo stations due to the low lag. 33 is still solid and unnoticeable to me but mid 40s is obvious. Especially on a baseball game. I had the ps4 pro for about a week but never tried taking off hdr mode in the ps4 settings. That way i could play the game in just game mode. Dumb on my part. But from what I’ve read about enhanced visuals and other options I’m thinking i should give it another try.

The PS4 pro is 100% worth every penny even without a 4K or HDR tv. I promise, I made this upgrade without those options and it’s even better when you get a TV capable of displaying all its glory.
