Skip a year?
No matter how good 18 turns out, do you think SCEA should skip 19 entirely and release their next game in 2020? Personally I wouldn't mind if it gave them ample time to make significant changes to the series. Obviously, hardware can restrict some of what they would want to do. But maybe they already have PS5 development kits.

Re: Skip a year?
Whether anyone thinks they should or shouldn't, it's a moot point. Their licensing agreement with the MLB requires that they release a game each year.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Skip a year?
Besides all that, there's no way they would ever skip a year.

Re: Skip a year?
I rather they would but I know they won't. Even when I skip a year or two and come back, the game doesn't feel as different as say Madden does. Madden may not be on par with The Show in terms of... well just about every thing lol. But the game often feels a bit different year after year.
The Show will add new features or a new way to pitch every so often. But the game just always feel the same year after year.Comment

Re: Skip a year?
I wouldn't like it. People differ on the improvements to the game and whether it's enough for purchase.
All I know is it's my favorite game every year, and I spend a ridiculous amount of hours on it. Even my lady knows when the Show drops that's basically all I play for long hours.Comment

Re: Skip a year?
Please lord no. Even if its just new rosters & updated player ratings & new rookies, that would get a purchase from me. I've already figured it up before & 20 cents a day is well worth even a bare bones update to me.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Skip a year?
As much as i would like them going to a new engine and starting fm scratch i know they are not going to.
They will ride this engine as far as they can.
The game needs to be released every year (not for me but for the reasons already stated by others) and they do a pretty good job each year in my opinion.
I just wish they made it smoother. I have a pro and play on high framerate, but the stutter is still there.
My guess is that this can only happen with a new engine.
Maybe when the ps5 arrives...Comment

Re: Skip a year?
I know there is talk that Madden may skip a year. Thought maybe the Show would have a similar stance.

Madden is also contractually obligated by the NFL to release a title every year.

Re: Skip a year?
As someone’s who’s been buying 2K every other year since ‘14, and who bought FIFA 18 after not buying since ‘14, I can attest that if you think this should be a thing, you can just do it yourself. FIFA 18 and 2K18 are AMAZING to me, whereas the guys who have been buying every year have complaint after complaint, per usual.
In other words, just take a year or two off if you find yourself thinking this is a thing.

Re: Skip a year?
Hell no they shouldn't skip a year. Just imagine skipping a year and they don't live up to the Communitys' level of expectation. They skipped a year in 06 I believe and because there were other games on the market no one cared, but they did make major improvements in animations and other areas.Comment

Re: Skip a year?
If they skip a year it would mean they have to sell twice as much copies, that’s litteraly a hard sell [emoji41]
