Re: MLB The Show 17 last Bow ScreenShot Thread
Don’t have any screens, but my final event on 17 was a HR Derby at the Polo Grounds. It was actually quite fun.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 last Bow ScreenShot Thread
The last time MLB 17 The Show was in my PS4 was about a month ago. After playing every single game, every single pitch of my Red Sox franchise...
Spoiler
I lost a handsome division lead, had to play Toronto in Game 163. In that game, I threw my first ever perfect game in The Show to win the division.
Had to play Toronto in the ALDS and swept them. Went on to Cleveland in the ALCS, fell behind 3-1. Posted a dramatic comeback to win the pennant.
Met up with the Dodgers in the World Series. Fell behind in the series 3-0, including Game 3 that I was winning 10-4 in the 8th innning, when LA went on to score 10 RUNS IN THE 8TH. I posted 2 more in the 9th, but ultimately lost 14-12. After that game I was like "Screw it, I don't even want to finish the season now". But cooler heads prevailed and I figured, I have at least one more game before I retire this year's version. Game 4 comes along, during which I turn my first ever triple play in The Show. Won 6-2. Again, just one more game. Game 5 and I'm down 1-0 in the 8th, when my boy Xander gets his only hit of the game with a double to bring in Hanley to tie it up, then X gets driven in. Won Game 5 by a final of 2-1. Game 6 is a battle, and we head to extras tied at 4. Very first pitch of the 10th, Pedroia knocks it to Chavez Ravine. Won Game 6 5-4. Here we are, Game 7. All the marbles. I must have blacked out because I don't even remember the score from this one, only the important stuff.

Is it cheating if I use a video? Because I don't think '17 could have given me a much better sendoff than this. HOF Zone, btw. I was testing out my streaming capabilities before the release tomorrow night and happened to record this on Twitch:

The thing is, it's not really anything too special. It's just simply baseball, and the ebbs and flows that occur even over the course of an inning, let alone a game. You can see the pitcher rolled through the first with a 7 pitch inning, and even had me way off my timing at the start of the inning. But things changed over the course of the inning, I got a few lucky breaks and ended up with a tie game. And the aftermath was very noticeable, as that same pitcher who was baffling me at the start of the inning now throws a 4-pitch walk.
That's baseball. And it's what Show '17 has given me over the past year.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 last Bow ScreenShot Thread
Probably won't be my last 17 game, but if it was....it'd be fitting.
Game 7 of WS. Up 5-0 in the 9th. Marlins vs Angels. Had to deal with freaking Ohtani in an NL park...so it's like a DH batting 9th. But we get through it fine.
Eflin cruising but running low on energy. I say, one base runner and he's gone. Relievers are ready and waiting. Pulse with auto fielding, manual throws.
First pitch. Simmons up. Ground ball to first, where a non-1B player is playing due to injury earlier in the game...and he boots it (who needs special out-of-position logic...).
I bring in RHP Kela, my setup man. After 5 pitches, he gets a grounder to 2B (who has 93 reaction). I'm like "okay likely DP...or if nothing else, get the out at second". Nope. Another error.
1st+3rd, 0 outs, 2 errors. I get the closer warmed up. First pitch to the new batter Castro...3-run HR.
Okay. Okay. It's fine. It sucks but it's fine. It's all fine. 5-3 still. LHB up A.J. Reed so I bring my LHP setup man Avilan. He gets a K on 3 pitches.
Two outs away.
Closer almost warm, but I don't use a mound visit. Another LHB up but he gets lifted for a PH Cozart.
Next pitch, solo HR.
5-4. 1 out.
Closer warm. He's coming in. 99 H/9, 93 K/9, 74 Clutch. Feeling good about squeezing it out.
Next batter is Trout. Routine fly to CF after 8-pitch battle. 2 out.
Justin Upton up. Count ends up 3-2. Paint the corner with a 98 MPH heater. In the zone. Strike three. Game over. Series over. Marlins 2020 Champs...
...or not.
Called ball four.
Okay, okay. Composure. Calm down. Just get Calhoun and we still win this.
Nail-biting 8-pitch at bat. 3-2 count again. Change-up down and away. Looks good. Hit the spot.
2-run HR to LF.
Down 6-5.
Was one out away. Now we're in trouble.
We do get that final out. But now we have to claw.
Except we don't.
Popup.
Strikeout.
Walk.
Popup.
Game Over. World Series Over. Angels 2020 World Champions.

Re: MLB The Show 17 last Bow ScreenShot Thread
I haven't played 17 since the gameplay stream. I just couldn't play anymore due to being too hyped for 18. But last night, before bed, I put the game back in for one last game. I decided to go out with a quick game of retro mode.
Yankees/Red Sox at Fenway.
I lost 11-4.Comment
