Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
3-3 thus far after getting drummed by the Brewers 8-3. Our pitching was poor in this game. Wacha couldn't stop walking guys and our bullpen, outside of Britton, gave up hit after hit, run after run.
Next up is the series finale with the Brewers before we get a day off and then travel to Boston for 2 in Fenway.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
The first series of the season is in the books.
Ozuna’s Cardinal debut was a good one as he went 2 for 5, HR, 2 RBI. As the Cardinals lost in 10 innings to the Mets 3-2.
Game two got ugly early as Wainwright got pulled after 3.2 innings allowing 8 hits and 5 runs. DeJong hit a solo shot in the 2nd inning for the only Cardinal run of the game. Mets 6 Cardinals 1
Game three ended in a walkoff. Mets 5 Cardinals 4.
The Redbirds showed some signs of life at the plate in this one getting 10 hits with 3 of them being doubles.
Leaving New York with a firm grip on the cellar 0-3
Milwaukee is next.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
In my carryover Nats franchise, 2nd game of a 4 game series at home against the Cubs, after losing the first game (Lester was a beast, 10k's) this game Hendricks ridiculous change up no hit me for the first 5 innings, they scratched across a run against Strasburg on a dribbler just out of his reach and got one off my bullpen, so after driving up Hendricks pitch count and finally getting a run. Wade Davis comes in, in the bottom of the ninth down 2 - 1, Rendon drops in a bloop single(would have never happened without the new hit variety of the last couple years) right over the first base man and in front of the RF. I bring in Adam Lind to pinch hit, work the count to 2 - 2, Davis throws a low fast ball, Lind crushes it 414ft. WALK OFF
( After last year IRL- " TAKE THAT FOR DATA" 😎😎.. The new crowd atmosphere was definitely noticeable, really felt like a big game, we both are in first place.Btw I have my crowd noise down a few clicks from default, feels about right to me. Really felt the tension from the 6th inning on.👍👍"They're no such thing as stupid questions, they're are just stupid people that ask questions"

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
At the end of my first season. I know I have a problem. I play roughly 35-40 games of the regular season.
I am the Cubs. Went 95-67. Yet finished 10 games back of the Brewers who were absolutely unstoppable this season.
I had Bryant and Contreras as my All Stars. My team was struggling in June I was about 40-33 and my #5's in the rotation were struggling. Tried Chatwood and Smyly, both were horrible. So I traded for Cole Hamels from the rebuilding Rangers. He was great for me. My rotation was stacked.
Then comes early August. Contreras goes down with a torn MCL. Out 6+ months. Devastating. I do a post trade deadline trade for Tyler Flowers, as I didnt trust Jimenez with the starting role. Flowers was actually really good the remainder of the season.
We had to play SF and Bumgarner in the Wild Card Game. I went with ole reliable in Jon Lester. SF put up 3 runs in the second, and I knew it would be a tough hill to climb.
I kept chipping away until I tied it in the 6th, and KB hit a solo HR in the 8th to take a 4-3 lead. Strop closed it down (Morrow was HORRIBLE this season) and I move on to face the team with the best record in baseball the Brewers, with MVP Domingo Santana.
Cubs go down 2-0, game 3 is tied 0-0 in the 12th before Ben Zobrist hits a walkoff homer. Cubs win game 4 and its tied 2-2 in the series.
Then the Dodgers take the next two in one run games, tough losses.
Off-season is here. Cubs consider making a push for Harper but do not. They have a lead-off hitter issue and decide to sign Charlie Blackmon. They also sign Marwin Gonzalez as a ultra UTIL man with Ben Zobrist getting older.
Cubs also added a couple bullpen arms while letting go of Strop. To make room for Blackmon the Cubs deal Heyward to the Mets.
2019 season begins. Currently at the mid-way mark with a record of 48-32. All Star break is 2 weeks away. I am playing this game a ton. Played 40 games season one, and have played over 20 this season too.Comment

Just got drummed by the Brewers 13-1. Jon Singleton hit for the cycle.
Nothing fun about that
Day off and off to Fenway

I haven’t decided who I want to play in my franchise. I’m a Rangers fan so I want to do them but it’s harder for me to get rid of certain players. I’m also considering Baltimore and Minnesota. Maybe a NL team.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
When the OSFM rosters drop, I’m going to take on the most difficult situation in sports, The Miami Marlins.
We will pretty much trade everyone in the big leagues in our first season and mold our team with a ton of young bats similar to how the Cubs did. We will essentially be a AAA team at the MLB level. We expect the #1 pick in 2019 so that will be our first chance to truly make a mark.
We will try to make a run at a cornerstone player like Harper or Machado in the winter. Can’t wait. I already have everything planned out lol.
Rebuild ETA: 3-6 years.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
i swept detroit behind very good pitching but my home opener was an amazing game. Musgrove went 6 strong innings not allowing a run. i had a 1-0 lead but minnesota tied it in the 7th. Josh Bell had my only run via homer. In the top of the 10th Carter Capps gave up a 2 run homer to Dozier and in the bottom of the 10th bell got on and Cervelli of all people hit a two run homer to tie it and in the bottom of the 12th inning Sean Rodriguez hit a walk off homer 4-3 win! 4-0 on seasonComment
