What do you have your injury slider set at?

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

Hoping some of my Franchise guys can help me out with this:

I'm getting ready to start the NLDS with the Mets, and am having issues when it comes to filling out my postseason roster. I have 2 players on the DL, leaving me with 23 players on the 25-man MLB roster. When I try and move a player from my 40-man roster onto the postseason roster, it says I can't unless he's on the active roster (if he's on the 40-man, isn't that active?) or replacing an injured player. When I try and remove the guys on the DL from the postseason roster, it says I can't because they are on the DL?

Can anyone help me out and walk me through how I fill those 2 roster spots?

I use Armour's set with a few tweaks to suit my play style, but injuries are set at 9. It's just super weird because I've played a tonne of different franchises, and a tonne of games, and this is the first season that I've had this happen. I love it, but it's definitely weird.

I still haven't seen an injury in my franchise ... all of spring training and a few series into the season.

yet in exhibition games, i was getting injuries on the regular. pitchers getting lined drived and having to leave the game. a RF slammed into the wall after making a catch and was injured. another sliding into thrid was also injured.

          weird

I have no adjustments to sliders whatsoever, and I've encountered a single injury (granted this is still 17), in the near 1 1/2 seasons I've played with my Pirates.

The rest have come via sim, and even then it hasn't been that debilitating.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

We split the two game series with the Indians. Won game one 4-2 thanks to a big day from Matt Carpenter who was 2 for 3 with a homerun, double and 3 RBI's. Game two, Carlos Martinez just didn't have it and Shane Bieber looked like Trevor Bauer as we were shutout 5-0.

Next up is a 4 game homestand with the Giants.

We are 24-18 on the year and lead the Central by 1/2 game over the Cubs and a game over the Pirates.

Reds are 16-26 thus far and 8 games behind on May 19th. I guess last year was a fluke.

Ok, here's a situation I need help with. Picked up Bartolo Colon and I want him to wear #40. His number preference is 40, but Jason Vargas had that number. I changed Vargas' preference to 43 but Colon was assigned 43 due to Vargas being 40 at the time I made the trade for Colon. How do I get #40 on Colon?

After you switched Vargas to 43 you should just have to go back to Colon, re-assign him 40, save changes and he should now have the correct number.

Finally, a non stressful game where both teams hit the ball. Cubs out hit the Reds tonight 14-12 and we win the game 8-4. I was worried when Billy Hamilton trotted out and hit a homer in the 2nd inning. He kicks our butt in this game. Rizzo hit homers 66 and 67 tonight. Chris Tillman improves to 18-4 on the season despite early struggles tonight.

And the Cardinals 6 game win streak is snapped by the Dodgers tonight 3-1! We're only down 1.5 games to the Cardinals now. The Cardinals are the first team in the league to lock up a playoff spot.

                      Cardinals 92-58
                      Cubs 90-59

Rockies 80-69 have a 3 game lead for the last wildcard spot over the Braves at 77-72.

13 games to go for the Cubbies!

Pirates Outlast Sanchez, Jays Bullpen, Win 2-1

The Pirates had all the hits on Saturday evening at the Rodgers Centre. The issue was, all of the hits were right at someone.

Aaron Sanchez tiptoed around the Pirates bats, and got some lucky outs, as he kept the Pirates off the board for 7+ strong innings, before giving way to the bullpen. Over those 7 innings, Sanchez yielded just 5 hits, with all but 1 of them coming from the first and second innnings. A leadoff double from Josh Bell in the Top of the 8th prompted the Jays to make the call to the pen. On came Brett Cecil, attempting to save their 1-run lead. After another base hit from Gregory Polanco, and a walk from Cervelli, it was Adam Frazier who played hero, driving a sinking liner to left, allowing Polanco to score from second to give the Pirates the 2-1 lead, which the eventually held on to.

Brett Anderson also went seven strong for the Pirates, allowing just a single unearned run, from his own doing, in the 4th inning. With runners on first and third, and one out, Anderson had a chance to get out of the inning on a 1-6-3 double play via a comebacker from Troy Tulowitzki, but he nearly threw the ball into center field, Pablo Sanchez had to come off the bag, and could not get Tulowitzki at first. Anderson froze the next two batters via the punch out to get out of the inning, and was on his way. Adam Ottavino entered in the 8th inning, and after allowing back-to-back singles to start the inning, he promptly struck out the side to end it. Closer Carter Capps struck out the side in the 9th to lock down a huge comeback victory for the Bucs over the AL East-leading Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays and Pirates will finish out their 3 game set tomorrow on Father's Day, where Henry Owens and Joe Biagini will battle it out on the mound.

This was seriously one of the best wins I've had in a long time. We really gritted it out, and I had been kicking myself for throwing a run away earlier. Even if this is a video game, Championship teams win these kinds of games...

                          Postseason baseball is no joke.

The New York Mets didn't do much offensively in the opening game of their NLDS series against the St. Louis Cardinals (who defeated the Washington Nationals in the Wild Card game), but what they did string together, combined with excellent pitching, was enough to grab a 1-0 series lead.

Michael Conforto was the Game 1 hero, as his two-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning propelled the Mets to a 3-2 victory, despite only registering four hits on the afternoon. Noah Syndergaard put together six solid innings, and the bullpen threw three innings of scoreless relief, including a three-strikeout performance from closer Jeruys Familia.

Matt Harvey heads to the mound for Game 2, with the Mets looking to hold onto home field advantage.

All-Star/Zone. I've tried all different settings through out the year and eventually started adjusting sliders based on stats around mid year. Currently:

Power: 4 (dropped recently, we didn't lead the league in homers until a few weeks ago)

                                Contact: 2
                                Timing: 2
                                Fouls: 2
Solid Hits: 7 (With lower contact, there were too many weak hits/contact. I think were around last in doubles right now.)

Pitch Speed settings are 10/10 too.

I'm have today's game in rest mode in the first inning but he already homered in his first at bat today. 98 power right/ 90 power left and 99 overall in my carry over.

Also, half the problem is no one is intentionally walking him. They pitch around him and it is easy to get up 3-0 or 3-1, then they loft a meat ball for him to crush.
