    No Variable Umpire?

I do not see an option to set the umpire traits. I guess this is been removed? It appears that they are not calling everything perfectly, so may be the umpire traits are now built in and cannot be changed.

    Re: No Variable Umpire?

It is now called Personalized which is the old Variable

    Three options now actually:

Personalized - based on the umpires individual strike zones (Clyde Washington, Dave Lawrence etc etc)

Average - based on MLB average strike zone calls

Perfect - just like it says

Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players

MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

They have MLB Average now? Damn, decisions, decisions on which to pick between Personalized and Average.

I've always used what they are now calling perfect but I think average was in the game last year.

I don't "see" the strike zone because I use manage mode but I wonder what the difference is between perfect and average. I'm guessing average might be a little smaller strike zone. Can anybody verify that?

I think Average is based on the average call types in MLB (without their own umpire personalities), just the MLB average on calls. Perfect, is well, perfect. Every pitch location will be called perfectly without any 'human error'.

Personalized is there version of MLB umps personal style they can be known for.

Yes, and I love the dialogue that goes along with the personalized strike zones that DeRosa gives this year, like Harold did last year.

Oh nice, guess I will stick with personalized, since it is still based on 'averages' but with their fictional umps own personality.
