Re: Does The Show not feel stale to anyone else?
My stance on these things are they aren't really gameplay related. They're cosmetic to add to the immersion of the game. Yes it's the game of baseball. That won't change. But we've been doing it EXACTLY the same for how many years now? If I'm not mistaking, the physics have nothing to do with the players themselves (momentum, players not passing through each other). But it's just revolved around how the ball comes off the bat.
I'm not really sure what the game needs.
I wasn’t suggesting those things were gameplay. I was sharing what things make the game feel “fresh” to me.

The last show game I played was 14 ( briefly before my PS3 died ) and I've been playing 10 on PS2 for a few years... 18 is AWESOME to me on PS4 Pro. Is it perfect? of course not, but I'm loving it!Comment

I don't want the word "stale" to come off as me saying it's a bad game. It's far from it. The problem is probably that it is so good that I'm not even sure how they can make the gameplay itself feel fresh.
I'm not sure if you remember when 2k had collisions in the outfield. That isn't necessarily a HUGE thing. But it was something that was gameplay related and added to the immersion of the game. As an outfielder, I wish it was in The Show.Comment

MLB The Show is far superior to Madden! I’m more of a football fan than baseball, but Sony has done an outstanding job with the series when you compare to Madden. It’s very rare to see people complain about The Show’ s gameplay where as everyone complains about Madden’ s poor performance year in year out!!!

Re: Does The Show not feel stale to anyone else?
I'll preface what i'll say next by saying one, i'm tried from a long week at work, and two, i have only played about an hour's worth of the game.
Stale isn't the word right now for me but underwhelmed.
My history on PS4 with MLB the show has been I bought 15 and 16 and was like , ok standard baseball game, and then traded it 2 weeks later.
17 was a different story. Out of the box, I was really impressed. It was an exciting game and just felt great to play. Kept it all year and played the hell out of it. First time in a very long time where a baseball game was my #1 videogame for the entire year.
18 is sort of feeling right now like 15 and 16. Maybe lack of season mode or that BB screwed up the preorder codes. Don't know. Way too early to tell but feeling underwhelmed right now.Comment

Re: Does The Show not feel stale to anyone else?
Not stale in the least for me. MLB is my 2nd favorite sport, but only by a hair. I look forward to The Show every year. I'm an Xbox guy, and it's pretty much the only reason I have a PS4 (There are a few exclusives I get but most of my time is on my xbox).
I can see how someone who is more of a casual fan may find it stale year in and year out because how much can you REALLY change the game year after year?Comment

Re: Does The Show not feel stale to anyone else?
So this is why this game doesn’t get stale for me.
- I never know what to expect. In NBA 2K I know I will win by 10-15 points. I’d shoot around 50% and that’s that. In the show - take today for example - I hit a walkoff grand slam in the 12th in one game. Blew a save in another. Won by 2 in another game, won on a walkoff single. Got blown out - the variety of results is ... astonishing.

"Stale" is too strong a word and this is the best version ever of the game ... but to me this is the least excited I've been about it after playing 3 games. It feels like a dressed up 17. That's great, but it seems like the growth of the game comes in smaller increments each year.Comment
