Re: No pitch count?
Pitch count in QC still shows up if you D-pad left, just a heads up. And it includes the simulated pitches, not just the ones you throw.
TBH....I don't think this is a bug (though it's probably changeable if the devs want to do it). The reason I don't is because pitch counts have been slightly fudged in QC ever since it existed - to make the stamina usage balance out with the fact that you're throwing fewer pitches.
I think they're trying to downplay that pitch count display (which is going to be slightly off) in favor of the the more accurate stamina gauge for QC mode. JMO.Comment

Re: No pitch count?
Another year with no tweaks to QC
i would assume thats because its a pretty basic concept, lol it just gives u a random count to start every AB.
i dont think they retweak the number of balls or strikes required to walk or strike someone out every year either, its always 4 and 3 as long as i can rememberComment

Terrible answer: this was removed by design when using Quick Counts this year to avoid confusion and pitch discrepancies.
This is the same dumb problem solving that lead to not showing starting pitcher handedness in DD/conquest games.Comment

Re: No pitch count?
I use quick counts on and off throughout the year, but I might just not even use it if this is how it's going to be. If you want to remove it to "avoid confusion", show me where the confusion was in the first place. I don't think anybody complained about the actual in-game pitch count. Things got a bit wonky when it came to stamina and number of pitches thrown in certain areas of the post-game stats, but the in-game count was always fine. Adding in an extra step to see your pitch count is ridiculous. I guess we'll just have to deal with it, but this is pretty dumb to me.Chicago Bulls | Chicago Bears | Chicago White Sox | Chicago BlackhawksComment

Re: No pitch count?
There was usually a thread or two per year, asking why the numbers didn't correspond accurately, ie. "I had 20 pitches, got an out, next batter has a 1-2 count and my pitch counter says 22". Instead of just having a simple canned response, "we tweak totals to adjust for the fact that there are no 1 or 2 pitch ABs when playing this way" they hide the number.
I hate the decision, if you do too, reply to the dev on the thread I linked.Comment

Re: No pitch count?
I posted to the link you provided.
Pitch counts in quick pitch is a necessary tool. I guess I can D-Pad but why fix something that wasn't broke?
What was broke was the total pitch count. It has been wrong since the game was created. Pitchers tossing over 140 pitches per game - MLB 17 just kept a running total.
These seem like easy issues to resolve. Perhaps the team that focused on that code no longer exist as they put more effort into online gaming, tokens and other stuff that generates revenue.Comment
