    Dynamic attendance

I loved hearing that crowd attendance would be more dynamic this year. However, me and a friend of mine just started playing a playoff mode and noticed something that really needs to be addressed.

Fans are leaving in the 7th-9th inning when the home team is losing during the playoffs. And we're not talking a 12-0 blowout. We were at Wrigley playing as the Cubs against the Cardinals in Game 1 of the NLDS and were losing 5-3. Fans had left by the end of the 7th. No chance this happens to a noticeable degree.

I always worry about new features being implemented because of overcompensation. Usually, my fears are for no good reason with SCEA, but this year both attendance and the new tagging system are both overdone.

Ha. I guess. But honesty, it really needs to be addressed. Completely takes away from an immersive atmosphere.

Honestly, I haven't checked out Postseason. I'm in a carry over and I'm in 3rd place, with Philly in 4th? There's not many people here. I'm in late June, for what it's worth. I'm just curious if you happened to take a screenshot? I'd like to see how bad it was. Obviously enough for you to make a mention of it...

Yikes that’s bad for a playoff game at Wrigley.

At first glance I see bottom of the 9th meaning it seems the fans have given up hope of a comeback? Then again that doesn't make sense either because down 2 anything can happen and you could win the game in a big way. I remember the O's were down by 2 in the playoffs at home and Delmon Young hit that 3 run double that helped complete a comeback. You could easily do the same thing, that is just insane.

Just mentioned in the impressions thread I feel I’m drawing way too many fans for early-season meaningless games. Crossing my fingers that this feature just isn’t working as intended yet and will be tweaked in the day-one patch or beyond, because Tigers drawing 34,000 on a cold April Wednesday is absurd and, like OP’s example, completely immersion-killing.

No question. If it was 14-2 then... maybe. Also, I took this screenshot in the 9th, but fans had left by the 7th inning. It's just stupid. I always worry that new features will be screwed up. Hopefully this will get fixed. It's really bad and honestly, I don't understand how things like this get past QA when I notice it within the first two days of having the game.

I like that attendance is supposed to be dynamic, but this is just crazy.

I don't think it gets past QA, I think they just run out of time and they can't turn back. I know MLB is one of the better games, but you still can't trust them. They have to hype hype hype to make back their investment back. And when they consider the release date crucial to maximizing their sales, stuff like this always happens. So yet I have another reason to wait and see what a patch will bring before I buy. Man, I've been buying less and less games these past few years.

Since you have a picture of it. Send it in a bug report. Maybe they can tone down both the tagging and the dynamic attendance with a patch.

Dynamic attendance is broken I think.

I was playing Phillies at Redsox in Fenway Park and it was a full house in the first inning and by the second inning there were already a lot of empty seats. And the score was 0-0 lol

Does that sound normal to you?

Ugh, it seems like this is the case every year with some aspect of the game. Last year it was a home run fest out of the box. Every year I have to wait for a couple patches before I actually start a franchise.

If someone can make a bug report using my pic I would appreciate it. I can't do it at the moment and I also don't even have an account.
