How does Equipment Upgrades work in RTTS?

I just got the Louisville Slugger MLB Prime Birch AJ10 Diamond bat. It says that it has an +8 power, and +6 contact attribute boost. When I went to Edit Equipment, and made it my bat. I didn't see any rating boosts to my power or contact.

    Before Diamond bat
    Contact vs R - 60
    Contact vs L - 54
    Power vs R - 55
    Power vs L - 50

    After Diamond Bat
    SAME, but it should be 62 power (55), 58 power (L), 66 contact (R), 60 contact (L)

What am I doing wrong, or don't know? This is my first year playing this game, so maybe I am completely missing the obvious, or don't know?

His overall is a 71 in the main menu, player card, and anywhere else I look except in an actual game. His attributes all remain the same, and don't show the equipped bonuses from having diamond level equipment attached. Pretty frustrating.

I believe those numbers in parentheses represent the aggregate bump you get from all equipment you've attached.

You're correct, but why doesn't his overall or the 60 + 12 (72) show when I look in his player card?

I would think, it should say Contact VS R (72) and not still 60. His overall rating shows what it should be with all the perks applied in the actual game (85 - as you can see from the photo) but I look at his player card, and nothing is adjusted or shows any type of attribute boosts

Yea, it has always been that way for some reason. I do know that you do get the benefits of the equipment in the games (i.e. you should notice yourself making better, more powerful contact) but it does not get factored into your overall rating outside of that. The main thing this impacts is the way team management evaluates you for call ups/send downs, which, unfortunately, appear to be based almost entirely on your overall rating (not inclusive of equipment boosts) and not so much on actual performance and results on the field. That is something that always been a little annoying in RTTS and it's exacerbated this year because of the way RTTS is set up with regard to automatic allocations and caps.

Thanks for taking the time out to explain this to me, even though their logic, if true, doesn't make much sense at all. As the player, I would like to see the raw attribute numbers effected by the equipment boosts in the player cards. I have been searching high and low for an answer for hours, so thanks
