    What are the differences. I don’t get it for some reason. Thanks

    Zone is aiming the pci at the ball when you swing whereas directional is timing and I believe you use the r stick to aim where you would like the ball to go but that is also dependant on swing timing.

      Zone hitting makes you responsible for following the pitch in and insuring contact. Directional hands that duty off to your player attributes, and provides various buffs and nerfs depending on the influence you choose.
