I am starting a new franchise Texas Rangers, and my catchers morale is bad due to his contract, but I cant find anyway to offer him a new contract or extension, so now his overall drops from 81 to 79. When can I offer him a contract extension or a new contract, spring training, regular season or off season??

You'll have to wait until the offseason to give him a new deal. There are no in-season contract negotiations.

You have to wait until the offseason.

In-season extensions is something player have been asking for them to put into the game for years. Hopefully they get to it soon as well as many other updates needed to Franchise.

thanks for the replies guys, that sucks though so my team gets penalized for a whole season, not just with one player overall rate but several guys.

This is such a small thing but one of the biggest things that bothers me with Franchise mode. Really wish you could progressively resign guys in season so you don’t have to do all of them in offseason.

Along with this needing to be in franchise, give us the ability to offer non-roster invites to spring training!!

And not to turn this into a wishlist thread, but I really want them to expand rosters to at least 100 per team. 125 would be preferred.

Also, why don't players automatically get the league minimum on their contract when you add them to the 40 man roster to call them up in season? They get mad about being paid 70k and expect to be paid as per the rules but they never get the require pay rise.
