RTTS: Mimic player vs create new player

Has anyone tried creating an RTTS character and used the mimic an existing player option? If you mimic a power hitter like Mike Stanton but choose an archetype for a speedy outfielder (ball hawk), do you get a better combination of speed and power attributes?

I tried this with mimicking Byron Buxton but chose the ball hawk archetype. I didn't think of choosing the power hitting one until after my showcase. My player did seem faster while running in the field than when I did not mimic a player.

I just want to see if anyone else has tried these options.
    Think positive!

It just gives you their height, weight and same equipment options if you mimic a player. You don’t get their attributes.
