Im not noticing a power outage at the moment, but what i am seeing is that a lot of the balls im squaring up are being hit right at outfielders and infielders. Im hoping ive just hit a stretch of bad luck as in the beginning those were hits down the line or in the hole past the infielder.

Power outage?
My first game after the patch was against the Red Sox and Wright. I can never hit knuckleballers and only mustard 3 frustrating/lucky hits the whole game. I’m embarrassed to say I was late on a lot of slow knucklers..lol
Played another game in my other carry over franchise with the Rockies at coors against the D-Backs and combined 8 hrs were hit between me and the cpu (6 by me and 2 by he cpu). It could have been the coors field effect and the wind blowing out but I also went from Strike zone camera to Strike Zone 2 batting camera for that game.
Maybe change your hitting camera and see what happens.

Re: Power outage?
I've hit 7 in 6 games using directional hitting, I've hit the wall 3 times as well. A lot of times it comes down to utilizing the pull direction in a hitters count and timing up a mistake pitch.

Re: Power outage?
Yeah the problem is the pulled hits that are fair are floating in the air like punted footballs. Before the patch the pulled balls that were fair felt like they had drive and weight to them.Comment

Re: Power outage?
The CPU hits plenty of homers against me. I'm on HOF pitching difficulty at the moment (dynamic) so I've been missing some spots. CPU is unforgiving with those hangers. As for myself, I had a stretch of about 10 games where I could barely hit anything out of the infield. Turns out it was the batting camera. My timing was way off. I was rolling over and popping up everything. I gave Strike Zone 3 a try and it's perfect. I hit 5 homers with Oakland against Eovaldi last night. It was in a Minor League park mind you, but I feel like my timing is fixed and my stroke is back.Braves | Titans | VolunteersComment

Re: Power outage?
I’m hitting plenty of homeruns. However, only two of them has come from someone other than Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez. Those were from Didi, and Walker, and were on veteran default. The CPU team has only hit 3 or 4 thru about 15 games. So that is a bit concerning. Pitching is still way easier than it needs to be.Last edited by bronxbombers21325; 03-30-2018, 05:21 PM.Comment

Re: Power outage?
No problem with power here on default HoF. The pull timing is a little bit more granular I'm finding, but one I figured out the timing for multiple heights middle-in I was good. Oppo field homers are quite nerfed this year imo.Comment

Re: Power outage?
Small sample size, but on dynamic difficulty with my RTTS I was getting an accurate amount of power. I switched over to Veteran with default CON, PWR, SH and Timing on 4 and the Play Now games and RTTS games I have played havent seen a single HR and only a couple warning track flyouts.Comment

Bad_pholantropy, what do you mean by granular? I am interested in your findingsComment

Re: Power outage?
Just that I have to be more subtle with the timing (earlier or later going after pitches on the inner half of the pate) than in years past. I felt like in previous years it was a pretty standard timing to go after anything in that middle to bottom quarter of the strike zone. This year there's a greater range of timing to get on those pitches and pull them properly.Comment

I just want a greater variety of hits. Not soft flys and grounders on anything pulled while late hits come out like they are shot out of a cannon. I don't even think they meant to jack the hitting up, but I think the pitch speed before the patch was meant to work with the new mechanics so they had tune the mechanics back to '17 to accommodate the change. Honestly I would rather have slow pitch speeds than wonky hittingComment
